photo guestbooks

Has anyone done this? Or thinking about it? I have been to a few weddings with it, and it seemed like a cute alternative to the traditional guestbook...

However, it ends up being fairly costly, do you think it is worth it?

We did something similar for our guestbook using our e-pics.  We made it using My Publisher.  PIB under Paper/DIY if you're interested.  I don't think it was that expensive.  Maybe $25?

We are doing a photo guestbook. The least expensive way to do it would be to get the Polaroid PoGo printer(about $30 on Amazon), hook up a digital camera to it via USB, and get enough printer sheets for more than the number of guests you have in case mess ups happen, which they will. The paper for this printer is about $10 for 30 sheets (Amazon again), and they have sticky backs. The next step would be to buy whatever scrapbook you want, add the proper number of pages, and make sure you have very detailed instructions and a designated troubleshooter in case things go wrong, which they will.

They do sell guestbooks specific to that photo printer, but it's quite pricey for one of those books compared to how inexpensive other scrapbooks are. Since the picture paper has sticky backs, you really don't even need the special book for these photos.

If you have any more questions, let me know. I don't know how easy to use the printer is as it would depend on your digital camera, but most are very simple.

Im sure you could find a company that will do it for you.  It may save you some money having them do it since they already own the equipment.  I have seen people do it with photobooths.  I thought it was a neat idea.  The pics printed out in 2 rows with 3 pics each.  The guest kept 1 half and the other half went into a scrap book.

We had a photo guestbook that our engagement photographer put together for us. It was about 15-20 pages with our engagement shots arranged, some full page, some with white space or with the opacity adjusted, for people to sign. It was a nice way to show off our engagement pics that not everyone would have normally seen, and the book is now a great keepsake from the wedding day.

DH made our photo guestbook on his computer, using IPhoto (he has a Mac).  I think it cost about $40 or so?  You do it on-line, then Apple prints it and ships it to you.  We used a combination of e-pics and other pics from vacations, etc. so guests enjoyed looking at them, then signed in the white spaces around them.  I feel like it is much more interesting than a traditional book w/ just lines for guests to sign their names on.
