I always found other people's reviews to be helpful so I want to make sure I post mine! We ended up having BEAUTIFUL weather, and a day I will never forget! It was everything I imagined and MORE!
I tried to give as much info as I could, so I apologize upfront for this post being so long! I hope you find some of it helpful!!
Airbrush Tanning: Patti Glass- A+
Patti came to my home and did a trial first and then I went to her home in Mahopac 2 days before hand. She also did DH's upper body for no charge! I loved how our color came out, and she was super sweet!
Hair: Gina from Hair by Dena- A+
I had a slight hair snafu with my original hair stylist, and one week before the wedding Gina rearranged her entire schedule and agreed to honor all the same prices. She ended up coming to my home and doing the hair for 9 of us!! I never had a trial with her and she did exactly what I wanted. All of our hair lasted all night and they all looked great.
Makeup: Jill from JK Flashy- A+
Jill was great to work with from day 1. She ended up doing 3 more girls than originally planned and never made a peep about it. In all she did makeup for 10 girls!!! I had 2 trials and Jill ended up blending the two trials together to get my "day of" look. I absolutely loved how I looked!!
Limos: Silverstar- A
Mario Jr was great to work with. The limo was on time, clean, and big enough to accommodate all of us. Their only downfall was that the air wasn't working at full capacity. It got a little warm in there.
Photographer: Kim Coccagnia- A+
I booked Kim off a recommendation from another Knottie. I was psyched that she had such great candid work, but was concerned about her posed shots. I almost booked someone else. I am SO glad that I didn't. Kim was fun to work with, on time, and everywhere she needed to be. My photos look AMAZING!! She captured moments I didn't even know were happening. I'm in love with all 1055 photos!
Videographer: Multivision- ?
So far, I have been happy. My raw footage will be mailed out to me on Monday, so I will be able to better review them after I see it. However, the guy that was videoing our day was really nice, and made sure that he got every shot he needed. He also did a "limo chase" scene where he filmed us while we were driving... it seems cool.... I can't wait to see how it comes out.
Uplighting/Gobo: The DJ Company- A+
I went to The DJ Company off of a recommendation from another Knottie. They beat out the price of my DJ, and was extremely easy to work with. Ryan answered all my gajillion questions, and delivered exactly what I paid for!
Photobooth: Partyime Productions- A+
This was a last minute decision, and I am SO happy we went for it! The attendant was great, and the booth was exactly as I imagined. Not a single bad thing to say about them.
Tuxedos: Men's Warehouse- A-
Our GM came from all over, so naturally Men's Warehouse was the choice. They all looked sharp, but getting to the end result was a nightmare! Who's jacket was the wrong style, who's sleeves were too short, who's tux were missing items..etc. The reason that I didn't give them a worse review is because the workers in Jefferson Valley really stepped it up for us. My FIL didn't pick up his tux in Ohio before he came so they overnighted it at no charge to us, AND one of the GM didn't have his tie so the worker drove up to the church and hand delivered it to us! That was pretty sweet of him, so for that they get a better grade!
Bridal Gown: David's Bridal (Danbury)- A
Nothing too great, nothing too bad..
Bridesmaid Dresses- La Sposa (Mahopac)- A-
They were fine to work with but their alteration prices were very expensive. All in all, I was happy with them.
DJ- Jimmy Dee- A+
Our MC was Patsy, and he was awesome. He had our guests up and dancing allll night long. I don't have any complaints at all! I was confident from day one when I booked them, and they proved to be all that I knew they would be!
Jewelry- Harnik Brothers (Tarrytown)- A+
Steve was great to work with. Both my e-ring and band are from him. I absolutely love them!
Rehearsal Dinner- Holiday Inn Express (Ft. Montgomery)- A+
We rented their meeting room and did the catering ourselves. They were very reasonably priced, and gave us the room for 5 hours. On top of that, they gave us the room for another 5 hours the next day for all of the groomsmen to use to have lunch and get dressed in. I was very pleased with them.
Church: Blessed Sacrament Chapel (Ft. Montgomery)- A+
This is not my parish, but Father Jack was very accommodating and a joy to work with. The Chapel was beautiful and exactly what I wanted.
Venue: The Thayer Hotel- B
So- They have amazing views and I love the ambiance of their establishment, but everything else was definitely subpar. I can't go into the full details of everything that happened because they are trying to rectify what they did wrong, and I don't want to bad mouth them when they are doing the right thing. I will tell you ladies that I didn't know during the wedding about all of the things that went wrong (my mom told me after), but the things I did know about, I didn't let ruin my night. They were great to work with leading up to the wedding, it was just the day of. I am definitely disappointed with the way many things turned out. They went under new management around February so perhaps this is all a result of the change..?
