Follow-up on Tent Post

Thanks so much for the help, girls! They really did help. My specific tent problem is this: My parents and caterer and I want to do a 40 by 40 tent for 140 people with NO dance floor (dance floor inside), no bars, and a small (10 by 6 foot) area for acoustic music, and a small area for a slideshow. Basically, that means 10.2 square feet a person (accounting for the band and video screen). The tent people think we should upgrade to the 40 by 60, but I think we might swim in that (plus, it's $500 extra). Still, I'm torn because they are so set on it being too small.Opionions?

What if you find out the size of the table and sort of draw a diagram to scale? My venue at capacity has 18.12 sqft per person, but that includes the dance floor.

Oh, sorry, yeah--our tables are 60" and we're doing ten at each. The tables all fit for sure--but they're each only give 100 square feet each (10 by 10), and there are going to be no open walkways per se, just the room to get around them

our caterer says the standard is 15 square ft per person.  the place that we rented the tent from did a rendition of how the set up would look - some computer generated program.
