Recommend your DJ

A friend agreed to DJ my wedding to save us some money, but he recently got a new daytime job and would probably not be able to do our wedding, and his only backup is my brother. I really do not want to have my brother DJ my wedding. I want him to have FUN! So I was wondering who you all are using and any recommendations! My wedding is Oct. 16th 2010 in the Berkshires, so if they are Boston based they need to travel. My preference is $1,500 or under. TIA!

DJ Dan McCarthy (I used Dennis and he was AMAZING) they are VERY reasonably priced and I have heard nothing but good things about them. I think their website is DM Productions Good Luck!

I am using DJ by Jake, djbyjake.com. I am from Mass and he is traveling to my wedding in Ct, and he is still cheaper than some other DJ's. He is great, definitely contact him.

We're also using Dan McCarthy- he did our friends' wedding and we didn't sit down the entire night, so we're looking forward to being on our feet the whole time during our own wedding :)

Ditto Aaron Topfer- we are both musicians/actors and music was the most important aspect of the wedding to us...and he was fabulous and affordable. we were extremely specific with what we wanted from him, and no one sat down for the entire evening- and we extended the reception over an hour.

we used get down tonight out of NH - not sure if they travel that far, but everyone (young, old, and inb/w) danced the whole night!  one of my bm's is now using the same company for her wedding in may:)  on their website, you can watch a short video of each particular dj djing and pick from there.  we used the owner tommy demer, and he was the best!  gl!

Try Dan from Solid Gold Pro... He did 2 of my friends weddings and he is going to do mine. He is VERY reasonable and will work with you on everything, you can even make your own playlists and make payments online thru his website. He is very good to work with.

MattyB is great!  I had him at my wedding.  He can play the sax and guitar and sing a little during cocktail hour and then dj however much you want him too.  He is really talented and everyone loved him.  Check out mattyb.com.

Another vote for Get Down Tonight Entertainment, if they travel that far.  Their prices are reasonable and they kept the dance floor PACKED all night at my 9/12 wedding.  I used DJ Jeff Stone.  Can't say enough good things about him.
