Gahhh can't catch a break here in LA.  When can we move back to Boston? oh right. another 5 years. ahhh. Walking down the street in a relatively 'safe' area of LA and some guy just comes up behind me grabs my purse and runs.  One of the guys we were with noticed pretty early on what was happening and was able to catch part of the license and a fairly good description - but still chances are slim.  I have been in LA less than a year and I think I'm on my 4th license?  When we first moved to LA last year we got our car window smashed in and took some stuff.  This past April when I was back in Boston for wedding related activities my purse was stolen.  And now tonight in LA my purse was stolen.  Umm seriously?  Hoping our monetary luck changes sometime soon.  In the mean time I can look forward to getting another license that I just changed along with a new cards that I just changed bc of the name change. SO FRUSTRATING!  at least no one was harmed.

Damn girl, that SUCKS! Readers Digest actually just had a really good article on that (FI's dad randomly got us a subscription) this month.  I would definitely pick it up and check it out.  But yes, luckily you were not hurt!

That's awful! Like you said, though, at least no one was hurt. I had no idea that LA was THAT unsafe. You definitely need to get back here

That's horrible! LA is crazy! That's one of the reasons my family decided to leave CA. You should come back!

Thanks everyone - it sucks but here were a few positives: 1) The police report says I'm taller (I was wearing flats) and a lot thinner than I am which made me feel good 2) I am going shopping today to get a new bag, sunglasses, and a wallet.  My sunglasses were actually broken and I've been bugging DH about it and he said they were fine bc they were functional so I guess that sort of worked out3) we bought a new Garmin bc ours was in there - but the power button had fallen off and it would only turn on in its cradle so probably better we are getting a new one nowMy mom and sister keep reminding me that things happen in 3 so I should be prepared to have my purse lost/stolen again in the near future and I should buy cheaper stuff.  I'm hoping this superstition does not apply in this case.

yay for the positives, but so sorry your purse was stolen in the first place!  I'll be in CA for my honeymoon, now I know to avoid LA!  Good luck w/ replacements and stay safe in the future!
