Hello all,I was never a huge poster on here, but I always loved to read the vendor reviews. I got married on 9/18, So here it goes. I will be happy to answer any questions people have about the vendors. Lakeview Pavilion – Foxboro A+ In the beginning I felt like we were being nickel and dimed with everything we did, but in the end it really did not matter because it was amazing!!! The day of coordinators were amazing!!! They definitely know what they are doing! All of the décor I wanted was nicely put together. The food was great!!! (I still wish I got to eat some of the apps, I was too busy taking pictures) All of my guests loved it, I did not hear any bad comments. Every request I had, they made it happen. Would definitely recommend them to anybody looking to get married on the south shore! I think the one bad thing about the day would be, I thought the lights should have been lower. They really don’t get that dim for people to dance. Side note*** invitation selection is kind of bad… Judy’s Village Flowers – Foxboro A+ I knew exactly what I wanted and she made everything exactly how I asked for it. The centerpieces were beautiful and all of the flowers for the party were great. I think for the price we should have received a bit more to them, but overall everything looked great! Delivery was prompt and they did not just drop off and go, they stuck around through the ceremony and made sure there were no issues. Judy is super nice and down to earth! She will tell you like it is, which I really liked! Kind of slow with email, but it is the busy wedding season, so can’t really blame anybody for that. Would definitely recommend! Brewster Limo – Quincy A++++++++ I can not say enough about the limo company. We had 2 limos and got a VERY reasonable price. Very good communication throughout the whole process. The limo’s arrived about 30-40 early at each location, and looked great. The cars were clean, no visible repairs needed, they looked great. The driver’s were amazing!!! We could definitely tell they were trained professionals that knew exactly what they were doing. When I was nervous, they got me water and calmed me down. When my party was confused about what to do, they were there to guide them. They really were like our coordinators at the ceremony!!! Without them, it would have been a cluster you know what. After the ceremony, we had some issues with our photographer and the limo driver cleared everything up and got us on our way! After bringing us to our reception, they stuck around and made sure everything was ok before leaving. I do not think I would ever use another transportation company after using this one; they deserve much higher then an A+!!! Montilio’s – Cake Brockton, Taste – A+ Look – C+ So, the cake… When I first met with montilios we sat down and went over everything we wanted. We were supposed to try a bit of the different things they offered. We were only given 3 different flavors to try. After this we wanted to try a different flavor so we called them and they made a small cake for us, free of charge. We finally picked our flavors and went back there to finalize everything. They did not have our original paperwork, so we had to do it all over again. All we wanted was a simple square 4-tier cake, colored with fondant as our bridesmaids and wrapped in a black ribbon with a couple flowers on the edge. We gave them a swatch to match from the dress, black ribbon, and a picture of our flowers. I thought it was pretty simple. Then we were told we could not use fondant and they would use butter cream, I was kind of worried because I wanted it to look even and smooth, but I was assured it would be. When we got to the reception, I was kind of shocked. The butter cream was the right color, but it was not even, not even the color was even and the flowers were brown. We used light and dark red roses, and the roses on my cake were shades of brown. I thought the cake from far away was ok looking, but close up, was kind of ugly. The cake was amazingly good and everybody loved the taste!!! So I would use them again, I would just be more specific as to what I want, or follow up with them and make sure they are doing it right. David’s Bridal, Dedham - Bridesmaid Dresses and shoes - A Not really much to say about them. My girls went in and got there dress and left. They didn’t use them for alterations (because I hear they were pricey). So overall, we didn’t really deal with them much. They dye shoes for $2.00, which was a very nice bonus! David’ Bridal Online – Invitations - A I used DB online for invitations and had no issues. It is pretty user friendly and they send you confirmations to approve through email. They came out just as I entered in the computer, even though they forgot to send me the envelopes but, they got them right out. So overall they were good. Party Dress Express – Fall River – My Dress – A- The shop was great and the ladies in there are super nice!!! I found the dress offered on an online store for much less and the shop offered a discount to keep the business, so right off the bat they were very accommodating! The dress came in, in a reasonable amount of time. One thing they offer that is a nice touch is 20% off the dress or free alterations. I did have an issue with my bustle and it may not have been done 100% after 4 fittings, and picking it up 2 days before my wedding, but I voiced my concern and resolution was offered. Nothing can really fix the fact that the bustle was not correct on my wedding day, but the venue and my girls made it work. I would use them again; I would just make sure everything is 100% before you leave the store!! DJ, Curtis Knight Ent. – DJ Jeanie – A++++++ This is another vendor that I would never turn away from!!! Highly recommended!!! She was awesome!! Everything we asked from her she did and plus some. I have never seen a DJ actually take pictures during the night and download them to a DVD with our music in the back ground for a gift for us. We did not pay any extra for this, she just did it because she wanted to. Also, at the end of the night she gave us CD’s with all the music she played during the night on it. I really think this is DJ service needs more hype!! For the price they offer the service at, you can not beat it!!! This is high end service at a middle class price tag. I would never use any other DJ service after my wedding night. She really is a great, great person!!! Valdemar Photo – Photographer Somerville – Day of – C I can not comment on the photo’s, but as for the day off, it was super aggravating!!! Every picture had to be so posed, and it took forever. I feel like we didn’t get enough. If we got 300 pictures we will be lucky. He was late for everything and since it was a family friend on the husband’s side, I felt like he was favoring his side much more! At the end of the photo hour, he wanted to continue and I had to finally yell and say I am done, before he would listen to anything I said. I really didn’t want to have him as our photographer, but felt obligated sine it was a family friend. He would stop us during everything to take a picture. I guess I wanted more photojournalism rather then posed. I also gave him a bunch of pictures I found online that I liked, and his exact words were “well these are nice, but everybody has their own style”. I will follow up with a review of the photos, they better be good!!! Mr. Tux – Dedham Tuxes – A Just like the bridesmaid dresses, we just basically got all the guys fitted and they picked them up with out an issue. Nobody had anything wrong with their tuxes. I think they are a bit pricey, but they get the job done and get it done right. Would use again. Rachel Buckley – Engagement Photos – A+++++ Amazing!!! Just look at her blog and see her work, enough said. Super friendly and just overall a great person! The hubby already said he can’t wait to have children, so she can do the baby pictures!!! I don’t think I have to say much about her, there are raves all over the place about her!!! Her photo prices are on the higher end, but worth it!!! Carolina Velasco and her team– Hair and Make-up – A++ These girls meet us at a hotel at around 10 in the morning. They had 7 of us done with an hour to spare and even sat and had lunch with us!!! They are so easy to talk to and made you feel so comfortable. All the products they use are top grade. They are very knowledgeable about everything!! The prices are very reasonable and I don’t think I could of found nicer people! I as well as all my girls loved everything. I have a lot of hair, that is very long and thick and Carolina made it happen! Would definitely recommend Melissa (not sure of the last name) – Calligraphy – A+ She was a friend of a friend, but offers her services on the side to anybody. She was the best price by far, only took a week and came out great!!! If anybody is interested, I can give her phone number. Photo Card Café – Save the dates – A+ They came out great!!! Great communication, very responsive. Sandals, Bahamas – Honeymoon – B I guess I was really hoping for more. We had a butlered room and we probably should of saved some money and not even bothered. The food selection was not that great and if you don’t drink hard liquor it is not the place for you. They only offer 2 types of beer, miller light and sands and only 2 types of soda, coke and diet coke. The resort boasts about luxury, but I have been to some resorts in my lifetime that were cheaper and much more luxurious. The island is very poor, which most of the Caribbean islands are, but this one kind of made me feel very uncomfortable. We were really hoping to go downtown and shop, but even the hubby was nervous. I understand it is more of a cultural difference, but the crime must be very high their considering every store you walk into, you need to be buzzed into. Overall it was nice, the weather is beautiful and the pools were great. The website is kind of mis-leading when it comes to the rooms. I would go back to the Bahamas, but I would stay at Atlantis. We went there for 1 day and it was amazing!!! LCI paper online – Menu cards and programs – A I just ordered the paper goods from here and I did them all, but the quality of goods they sell is great!!
