I got MAC for the wedding, but for everyday I use Bare Minerals.  I've used that for the last few years, but I also like the smashbox and stila tinted moisturizer for something light.  (can you tell I spend way too much time in Sephora?) What I like about Bare Minerals is that its very natural (you can pronounce all the ingredients!), everything has SPF, and it is endorsed by dermatologists.

I use Clinique almost there (or something like that) tinted mosturizer.  LOVE IT!  It doesn't even feel like I'm wearing anything but gives great coverage.  I've been using it since I was about 20, plus it has sunscreen in it.

I've been using NARS for foundation/blush/bronzer since college.  I love it!

I'm allergic to everything, so I use mineral makeup. I can only use Everyday Minerals (only 4 ingredients!): www.everydayminerals.com. FYI, Bare Minerals has a filler, bismuth, and a lot of people break out from it. Anyways - EM is fantastic, it has like a cult following and is crazy cheap, especially for the amount of product you get. I use the concealor, foundation & setting powder (I don't love their eyeshadows, my eyes are sensitive). I also use a lot of Smashbox, Laura Mercier, Benefit, and some Clinique. But EM is always my base - feels weightless. A good place to get makeup advice is MakeupAlley, www.makeupalley.com - tons of reviews! GL!

erilou, thanks for the EM tip.  Last year, I switched from MAC studiofix to Bare Minerals.  I don't break out as much, and when I do, I blame it on internal stress, not BM.  But maybe you're on to something.  I will def try EM.  Is it basically the same system as BM?Also, one of my favorite makeup essentials is Bobbi Brown's gel eyeliner pot.  It's so easy and I don't get raccoon eyes by the end of the day.  I like Nars for blushes (I still use Orgasm after all these years), Lancome for mascara, and MAC for lipgloss.

erilou - can I buy EM products at physical store?

fool - As far as I know, it's all the same minerals that Bare Minerals uses, but EM doesn't use any fillers (BM, and other makeup companies, but inexpensive fillers in to stretch out the product). Give EM a shot! :) They even have little samples you can get for next to nothing to make sure your skin likes it. I wish I could use MAC makeup, but I get huge welts on my face when I do, oy... Also, the minerals are the same found in sunscreen - I can't apply sunscreen directly to my face (again, welts) - but the minerals are like sunblock. I think they say somewhere on their site that they can't advertise it because they haven't run crazy tests or something - but I've never gotten a burn on my face when I had it on!

Sorry, fool - we posted at the same time! Nope, they are only available online - but the price is crazy reasonable. They may even back if you don't like it (going to site because I can't remember...)

i was v. v. v. loyal to smashbox's tinted moisturizer but decided to switch it up after awhile and now use stila's tinted moisturizer. love both -- they're both really breathable and i feel like the colors matched pretty well. i tried really hard to love laura mercier's tinted moisturizer after hearing so many good things but it just didn't work for me ... looked way too heavy. : (

Fool - yep, they'll take it back within 60 days with original packaging and invoice. Also - not sure if this is important to everyone, but this makeup is vegan, and cruelty free. The containers are also made out of recycled material, and can be recycled. If you want to try it out, a good thing to do is by a base sample pack - they have them in each of the "tones" : http://www.everydayminerals.com/store/try-me-free.html - it's inexpensive, and you can try out different shades. You can also blend shades together to match your skintone perfectly! Sorry, totally a member of the EM cult - I'll never use another foundation again ;)

I use Clinique tinted moisturizer too and I love it.  I also put Neutrogena sheer minerals over it.  This product is great b/c the brush is attached to the powder and has a cover so it's clean and easy.  The coverage is even, not shiny, light, and quick!  One tube of the moisturizer is like $30 but it lasts a couple of months and I use it everyday!

erilou, I'm going to order the sample packs.  Very exciting.  What primer do you use with the EM line?  I kinda like the BM version.

fool - I don't use any primer on a daily basis, but when I go out, I use the Laura Mercier oil-free primer. For daily use, I just make sure any dry patches of skin are moisturized, and I use the "original glo" version (I'm Cool - Fair). For when I go out, I use the primer, and the same color foundation in the "intensive" version. The original glo is lighter, where the intensive is much more drying so it needs a layer under it (for me anyways!) - but my skin is wacky.

Oh! Sorry - we should just start a new post on this - I also don't always use the finishing powder - depends on how dry my skin feels, etc.

Thanks.  Primer is a must for me...I may switch to Smashbox's version (MUA used it on me).  Also, I really like the finishing powder that BM has, so I will probably end up using EM's version too.  It really silkens my skin.  I love trying new products, especially when they're this affordable.

fool - right? I can't believe how inexpensive it is - and it lasts FOREVER. I hated mineral makeup at first, I was a tinted moisturizer kinda gal most of my life - but then I developed skin issues in my early twenties, and they discontinued my fav makeup, so I had to find something else. Everyone raved about minerals, but it took me awhile to learn how to use it right so it looked the best, etc. Now I'm a total, unabashed, makeup whore. ;)

Getting into this late, but do you use the original Smashbox primer or the Lite version?I always used the regular because they didn't have a lite version, but once they made one I totally switched.I'm actually not using any kind of foundation right now. Just blending in MAC concealer wherever it's needed.

I'm quite late to this thread, but thought I'd second the everyday minerals rec.  Love them.  Use it all the time as my foundation.  (Speaking of which, it is time to restock...)
