Sorry I have been MIA

Hey girls, Sorry I have been a little MIA since last week. Last Wednesday I got laid off from work! :( I'm trying to look on the bright side beacause I just finished my Master's program in the summer to do a career change and leave the business world to become an Elementary Teacher so the timing isn't the worst. (Although I wasn't planning to leave my job until after the wedding) Now I can focus on my MTEL exams and do my student teaching before the wedding. It's just a little scary losing my job because it wasn't on my terms. Anyways, that's that.

Oh, wow!  What a crazy week for you!  We are glad to have you back and I am sure everyone wishes you good luck with your career change!  Sometimes when something unexpected like that happens, it really turns out to be for the best.  Good Luck!!!  *hug* ps. whenever I hear about people who want to teach young children I always mention to them Maria Montessori & her method of teaching--it's awesome!  Basically it allows children to learn at their own pace, and interestingly most children are "held back" by traditional teaching methods--they really excell in Montessori schools.  If you aren't already familiar with her, you might want to read some of her books or learn about her method.  I went to a Montessori preschool from when I was 2.5-4 years old, and one of my friends teaches at a Montessori elementary school in Lexington, MA.
Yay! Finally able to update my signature :)

I have to agree w/ JK...Montessori is a great education I went to Thacher Montessori in Milton, from pre-k to 6th grade, it was the best and most students excel in school once they move to a traditional school. Good luck on your exams and finding the perfect job!!! Remember there is a reason for everything that happens in life.

I know how you feel, I was laid off in Aug 08.  I too had intentions of leaving the company, but being let go not on my terms did affect me negatively.  Granted I know it wasn't performance based...still sucksThank goodness I found a job 3 months later.  Hang in there chica.
