Can anyone make reccomendations for where to got dress  shopping in Westchester?  I have heard sooo many horror stories.  I will take any advice on where to go and where to stay away from!  Thanks!

I had a terrible experience with David's Bridal in Yonkers, so my suggestion is to stay away from them. Amelia's in Mt Vernon came to my rescue, though I don't have my dress yet so I cannot give a complete review yet.

I also got my dress from Amelia's in Mt. Vernon.  Maria is awesome!  I just saw my dress for the first time since I ordered it and I'm in love with it!

I went to look for my dress at Amelia's in Mt. Vernon, Boticellis in Bronxville, Follia in White Plains, and Fontana in Eastchester.

My Mom bought her dress at Amelia's; be sure to work with Maria as pp said; she is a saint.  I went to David's in Yonkers for my BM dresses.  They were annoying, but our saleswoman was kind and helpful and there were absolutely no issues with the dresses.

There are lots of places in the area that you can go look. (I got mine through the company Camille la Vie that has a location at the Palisades mall in Rockland)

Go with an open mind. Also, if a store carries a brand you like, they can usually order any dress by that designer. (Even if they don't have the particular dress in the store)

The only other two stores (I think) in Westchester that haven't been mentioned were Fara Bridal in White Plains and The Bridal Shop in Mamaroneck. Also, for Bridesmaids, La Petite Boutique in Pleasantville carries a lot.

(I'm not sure if you were wondering where to LOOK or where to BUY. The bridal salons I listed might be good places to LOOK.)

Definitely check out the store in the Palisades mall.  You might be surprised. They were very helpful. And ordering my dress (through their 1-800#) was a great decision.

In Putnam, there is La Sposa Bridal in Mahopac.

If you decide to travel north into Dutchess - Special Occasions in Fishkill, The Town Shop, Brides Fantasy and Mary Abdou are places in Poughkeepsie are other places you can check out.

(I visited 10 stores for dresses. Not saying to do that! But just remember, to have fun! And if you go out one day to just look - be sure to let your consultant know!)
