What time did you have your welcome reception?  We are having one as well and I'm not sure on timing.  I like the idea of the cocktails/desserts instead of cocktails/hors d' oeuvres.  We are not having a rehersal dinner and I don't want to interfere with people's own dinner plans.

Becky - Our RD was at 6:15 and our Welcome Reception was at 9:30. Guests didnt leave until around midnight. It's a really great way to get everyone together the night before and our guests really enjoyed it a lot!
