WWYD? No shows...

I had my shower yesterday, and it was a really great day.  Everything went really well, and I think people had fun!!!The only problem is that I had 2 friends that were no shows, that had RSVP's yes to my aunt.  I haven't heard from them.  Just wondering if you girls would contact them, or just wait to see what they do....

I wouldn't contact them at all. If they send a gift, obviously send a thank you. otherwise- why do you need to contact them?

They both said they were definitely coming.  So FI was saying that maybe they were thinking it was next sunday or something, and got mixed up.  We wouldn't want them to make an extra drive for no reason.  But i would think most people would double check the invitation before they left for a party...

If they were coming from a distance, maybe they were deterred by the weather? I'd wait and see if they call or send you something. I had a couple people not show up to my shower; it happens.

hahaha....I had to laugh bc one of my friend's shower was this past june.  I was really looking forward to it, and the day of the shower FI & I went to the beach and went skateboarding (it was like the only day it wasn't pouring in june--although it was cloudy & rained later), and I kept saying how I had to leave by noon to go home and shower and change for the shower that started at 4pm.  Well, I had forgotten the invite at work, so I swung by to pick it up & get the directions...it was like 2pm at this point.  And OMG(!)--it had started at noon!!!!  I totally goofed on the time!  I called my friend though right away and her MOH answered her cell and I apologized and gave her a message for the bride.  I gave her her gift when I saw her a few days later and profusely apologized.  It was all fine in the end, but I was so embarrassed and felt so badly that I missed it! Maybe call each one if you are curious and just say you were concerned bc you hadn't heard from her and just wanted to make sure she was ok.  If they are good friend's I'd just reiderate that it's not a big deal (so she doesn't feel badly)--but just that you wanted to check in.

jkepros - that is really funny!!  I'm glad that your friend wasn't mad or anything.  I'm not mad at all, i'm just curious.  I think i'll wait a few days, and if i don't hear anything from them, i might just check in with them to see if everything is okay.
