Thanks everyone! Evs - "You motorboating son of a b&tch!" (I hope you get the reference) Fool - We traced it in sharpie actually, so it'd be easier to paint over. I kept asking myself that question the WHOLE time - but in the end, seeing it finished, it totally was worth it. And I took my time with it - the 80 hours are so were stretched out over weeks, so it's not like I was a slave to this project - just had to commit time to it now and then. Mike can't wipe the smile off his face when he sees it - he's just so proud. I know if we didn't do it, I would look back at my photos later and regret not covering up the fireplace/painting at the venue with something. As for what to do after we are done - it's 12 ft. high, so we can't display it in our current home. The monogram could easily be painted over and we could sell it - but we kind of want to keep it. We just don't know what to do with it, it'll have to be broken down and stored somewhere if we do keep it - and that means literally tearing it apart. We'll see I guess. I'm not going to think about it until next Sunday

Love love love it!!!  Turned out amazing!  Reading your blog description TOTALLY reminded me of painting sets in HS theatre...for a production of Peter Pan our director decided he wanted stripes painted on the canvas walls to make it look like striped wallpaper.  OMG, it was grueling.  I can totally sympathize with you!  But in the end it's beautiful and you two can be so proud!
