Question on Save the Dates

Hello ladies! It's that time in my planning process to start sending out save the dates (can't believe how quickly the time is passing!) - and I am looking for some opinions...Do you need to include "invitation to follow" on the STD? Or are they common enough now that most people already know that?At this point our working STD doesn't have it listed as it looked a little too busy for a simple STD. We are going to have mostly out of town guests and a few from overseas so I just want to make sure I am not confusing anyone!TIA

I included it. I think it goes without saying, but people can be so weird when it comes to stuff like that. Is there a way of fitting it very small at the bottom?

Well, my STD clearly stated "SAVE THE DATE" and on the bottom it "Formal Invitation to Follow".  I feel like a lot of my older guests would've gotten confused w/out that statement.  I can just imagine them saying, "OMG, I can't believe Fool's wedding invitation is a freakin fridge magnet!"

That's what I am worried about! I think I might just go ahead and rework it. Thanks ladies!

I think it's nice to include it...older guests probably won't understand what a save-the-date is.  They really have only been used in the past 5-10 years.

I think it's kind of obvious without it.  Older folks were a concern, but like a pp, they more than likely wouldn't consider a huge magnet to be the ACTUAL invitation. ;) Really, it's fine either way.  and honestly, it's just a few extra words....

We included "Formal invitation to follow" at the bottom of ours just so there's no confusion at all.
