Hi Boston ladies! If you frequent other boards, you might have already seen this notice, but I wanted to let you know, too.

) After 5 years of one format, and millions of breaking threads and bugs, The Knot is changing the format of the Community Boards. The new format is VERY similar to The Nest boards.Listed below are some of the GREAT changes and improvements that will be coming our way.1) A better Search function2) Private Messages (PM's)3) Collapsible Knot TV at the top of the screen4) Ability to hide signatures 5) Ability to sort the posts by most recent reply, rather than most recent discussion 6) QUOTE and EDIT BUTTONS!!! WOO HOO!! (My personal favorite. lol)7) Badging- No more Blue Ballsa. Newbie posters- 0-500 postsb. Bronze posters- 501-2000c. Silver posters- 2001-6000d. Gold posters-6001-15000e. Platinum posters-15001 +8) Emoticons (TK gives you some, and you can insert your own)9) Easier to put images in posts (right now, you can ONLY get a pic from your computer, which will not always be the best way. Hopefully, we will still have the OPTION to use a link.)10) Can’t delete thread after replies have been made—This is great for all those times you’ve thought out a really great, heartfelt reply, only to have the OP delete it away. And, if you want to delete your post after replies have been made, you can just edit it away. NO MORE DD's!!!11) No online indicator—I can see this being a point of contention but this helps do away with cyberstalking and in the past employers have used the online indicator to see employees were on the boards.12) Watch this thread or Email Replies- Replies can be emailed or sent to an inbox like your PMs. Your choice.13) Boards that don’t archive—no more 1 page boards!14) No more 3 day bans. Mods will be able to perma-ban. This will definitely help out with vendor postings.Under each users name, you will be able to see their post count and when they joined the Knot. Also, the pic with your screen name is the pic in your Knot bio. So, click on your bio and look at your pic. Whatever you make that pic is what you will see whenever you post. There will also be a "My Boards" page. You can save all of the boards you frequent the most, instead of bookmarking them or going through a drop down box.The target date for the new launch is Tuesday, depending on how many "bugs" are found. IT is working to fix them all before the launch. It could be Wednesday or Thursday. So, if you sign on next week, and you think you are in the wrong place, don't worry! It might get a little getting used to, but overall I think the change is going to be good.
