Wedding Ring shopping suggestions?

I'm ready to start seriously looking for the rings. I've looked at a few places and have some ideas but i've received so many other great ideas on here i thought it was worth asking. Has anyone shopped around and found places they think are much better deals and better to work with than others? My E-ring is from a store in the jewlers building downtown so i'll be up to go there and anywhere else around boston and metrowest. I'm looking for a platinum eternity band, nothing big. Thanks so much!

Re: Wedding Ring shopping suggestions?

  • My wedding ring was purchased at Ross-Simons in the Prudential Mall. I'm not sure if she's still there, but we worked with Andrea and she was very nice.
  • We bought my wedding band at Barmakian in Nashua, NH and it was a great deal.  They had a huge selection and good prices (we shopped around a bit and they were the best price for what I wanted).  I'd definitely recommend them.  I think there is one in Framingham and maybe Boston.  I did shop at the Framingham one and the sales woman we got was really pushy, which I didn't like.  But the guy in Nashua was awesome, so it just depends on who you talk to.

We bought DH's ring at the wedding sale event at Long's Jewelers in Burlington.  That is a great store too, but they do seem to have higher end stuff so the prices were a little higher.  But we got a good deal on his at the sale event.

We also shopped at Jared in Burlington and I liked them too, although it took *forever* to wait for a salesman to be free to talk to us.  NOt sure if they make appointments or something, we walked in.  But, once we got one, he took his time with us and were very helpful and knowledgeable, and not pushy.  I would have bought from them if htey had what i watned, but they had a limited selection of yellow gold rings.  They had a ton of white gold and platinum, so worth a shot for you!

Wow, that was a book.  :)
  • Hefez and sons, they are amazing couldnt be happier
  • My engagement ring is from Jean Boyadjian in the Jewelers Building on Washington Street.  We met with her to discuss wedding bands and we will be getting them through her.  She is incredibly nice and her attention to detail when listening to what you like is amazing.  She made the setting for my E ring a little more sturdy when she found out what I do for a living.  I've also recommended friends to see her for jewelry repairs and they have said nothing but great things about her service in that respect.  If you would like more info PM me!
  • if you're willing to wait it out, Long's is having their annual wedding band weekend in March.. They really have terrific deals there during that sale.
  • My e-ring and both our wedding rings are from Barmakian in the Jewelers building downtown. I thought they had a very good selection and pretty good prices-- for the wedding ring, I only compared with one other store though. They had mostly platinum eternity bands, I would say (it's what I was looking for too). They have a yearly or biyearly sale too, but it might be better to go to Nashua location for the taxes.
  • DH bought my e ring and we got our wedding bands all from www.bluenile.com.  They were reasonably priced, great quality and ship quickly.

My e-ring is from Joseph Gann in the diamond building (beside DSW), we'll probably check with them first when buying our bands since we had such a great experience there.  Ask for Matt, he was super helpful.

  • We went to Stardust jewelrs in Natick/Framingham.   It's right in front of Jordan's furniture.  My FI bought my e-ring there, they custom designed both of our rings without being fussy (I liked features of 2 rings and they merged them together).  What they did would have cost hundreds to thousands more anywhere else we looked.

I took my cousin there to get prongs tightened on her ring that is from another store and they did that and dipped it for free.  My mom was there too and they cleaned her ring while we were waiting and noticed it needed to be reshaped which they did while we were there for like $10.

Basically, they are great to work with, if they don't have it they will make whatever you want (for a reasonable price), and everyone who works there has been very nice and helpful.

    Can't recommend them enough!

Ditto on this, mine is from Freedman jewelers. My fiance did a LOT of homeworkwork inspecting the quality of various diamonds at a lot of different stores, and was happiest at Freedman. We'll be getting our bands through them as well.
  • I have to second bluenile....but i did some wedding band shopping in stores to see what i liked with my e-ring

  • Thank you all for your suggestions!

We went today downtown and looked at several different stores in and around the jewlers building. We ended up buying both of our bands at Bouvier on the 2nd floor in the jewlers building, we got both rings for less than the exact same rings were at several other stores. Definitely a place worth checking out for other ladies who are going to be looking.
