Wedding Venue

Hi,

My Fiance and I are having such a difficult time trying to figure out where to have our wedding. His family is from the Lowell area and mine is from the Springfield area. We're looking for somewhere that fits 130 people. The budget isn't set in stone, but we're trying to get it less than 100/pp. Does anyone have any good ideas for a site inbetween. I really don't want to be stuck at the Log Cabin

I recently went to a wedding at the Garden House at Look Park in Northampton and it was really lovely. They have a gorgeous patio that you can use if your wedding is going to be held in the warmer months. I'm not sure if she had 130 but she had close and there was still some extra space.

The good thing about it also is that you bring everything in so you can save a ton depending on the type of caterer you get.

I went to Umass-Amherst for college so I've been to almost ll of the venues at there at one point or another and I thought the Garden House was nicer than any of the more typical Delaney Houses or Log Cabins.

Unfortunately, my parents, who are now divorced, got married there so it's not an option.  We're also looking for somewhere a little more in the middle of lowell/springfield.
 
And my FI and I met at UMass!

Haha, so did my fi and I. Our first "date" was at guitar dudes at McMurphys!

We are getting married at Charter Oak Country Club in Hudson, MA.  It is a beautiful venue and I think their minimum number of guests is lowered for Fridays and Sundays as well as off season.  We are getting married March 27, 2010 and we got a great deal on the package.

Hudson sounds like it might be a good location between Lowell and Springfield.  It's right off MA Pike/495 and there are a lot of hotels that are easily accessible and affordable.

Our wedding reception is going to be at Harrington Farm, gorgeous venue on top of Mt Wachusett. I'd say it's right in between Lowell and Springfield down Rt 2. About 80 pp.
