Hello Boston Knotties! My bridesmaid lives in Brookline (since 2009), but is originally from Michigan where my wedding will be held. She needs to find a tailor, preferably someone who has a lot of experience with altering bridesmaid dresses. The dresses came in around Christmas so I gave it to her while she was home, and she brought it back in Boston. There isn’t time for her to get it altered in Michigan.
She’s quite concerned about the dress because since it was ordered, she has a lost good amount of weight and the dress is very big on her. She is convinced that she should just order another dress in a smaller size, but I told her she should seek the opinion of a tailor first. She does not have a car and takes public transportation or walks instead, so the tailor would have to be near a T or bus stop. She knows her way around Boston, but doesn’t have a clue when it comes to tailors. Does anyone have any recommendations of an alterations shop that she could go to for a consultation?
