Past & future Gloucester brides - church and hotel block help!

Hi everyone,

I recently booked our reception at cruiseport Gloucester.

I'm wondering whether anyone who has gotten or is getting married in Gloucester has any nearby Catholic church recommendations?

Also, my fiance's family is traveling in from CT, so we are in need of a hotel block. I already checked out Rockport Inn and Suites. It seems to be a good option, but am wondering if anyone has any other recommendations? We would like to host a next-day brunch.

Thanks SO much for any help!

</div><div>Hi, My daughter is getting married in Gloucester (reception Cruiseport). Both my daugher & her FI are Catholic.  She looked briefly for a catholic church and one of my coworkers is from Gloucester and said there is a very pretty catholic chapel near the water.  I think the name of it is St. Anthony's.  It is only open seasonally.  I believe you have to go thru Holy Family parrish in Gloucester for info.  Just be aware some (maybe all) Catholic churches will not allow a marriage in their church unless you are a parishoner.  </div><div>

  • Hi there! I just had my ceremony & reception at Cruiseport Gloucester on April 15th and LOVED it! I wish I had pictures to show you but I don't have them yet!

For hotels, we did a block at Rockport Inn & Suites. I got the 2 room suite for us which was great because we got hair & makeup done there--hair lady went upstairs and makeup was downstairs and it was easy to get everyone done. I'd recommend them for sure.

I know they can cater breakfast/lunch for you if you want as well, but we didn't do that. I did research it, but we didn't end up doing a day after brunch after all. I found this place that looked good: http://www.udine4less.com/mamieskitchen/

Good luck! Nice choice on venue :)

<div>First of all, sorry for the delay in my response!   Thank you SO much for the suggestions!  I have blocked the Rockport Inn & Suites.  Definitely the largest in the area and most accommodating that I looked into.  </div><div>
</div><div>I also looked into the Holy Family Parish - they were absolutely wonderful to deal with, but unfortunately the times did not work out for us, so we may just have the ceremony at cruiseport.  Thank you again and best wishes for your daughter's wedding!  I would love to hear about how it went after.</div>

</div><div>Sorry for the delay in my response!  I'm so happy to hear you had a wonderful experience with Cruiseport.  I've heard nothing but great things, so I am sooo happy I chose it.  I would love to see pictures when you get a hold of them!</div><div>
</div><div>I ended up blocking Rockport Inn & Suites as well, and the 2 room suites for the bridal party.  It seemed like the biggest hotel in the area (my fiance's entire side is travelling) and they seemed extremely accommodating.  </div><div>
</div><div>Thanks so much for the reply!!</div><div>
