Inexpensive Wedding Venues?

Hello Ladies,
I'm looking for some help in finding affordable/inexpensive wedding venues in MA or even southern NH.  Estimated guest list stands at 120 right now.  We would prefer to hold the ceremony and reception at the same site.  Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance! =)

What price range are you specifically looking for? And are you looking for just the hall or places that supply catering, linens etc? If you tell us a little more I bet the girls here will be able to send you a bunch of great suggestions!

    :)

Friday and Sunday weddings tend to be cheaper. Also try to find a site that isn't privately owned, but rather owned by the town. You'd probably be bringing in your own catering, but it could save you a lot of money.

I second a Fri or Sun wedding...we are having ours on a Friday and saving over $5000. Not many people are coming from out of town which helps, but to accomodate work schedules we are having a 5p mass and 7p reception so guests can go from work to the reception if needed.

Neighborhood club in quincy and the Tirrell Room in Quincy are both reasonably priced and I think you can have your ceremony on site.  Also Sons of Italy in Braintree and Quincy are inexpensive but I'm not sure if you can have a ceremony on site.

    Hi Chrinsky

We're getting married at Codman Estates in Lincoln, MA and will have the reception there as well.  Off-peak (Nov - April) it's only $900 on the weekends.  It is a really beautiful site (clicky).  As others have mentioned the price drops on Fridays and weekdays so that is something to keep in mind as well.

    Good luck!

We're doing the Millennium Hotel.  Their package includes a lot (hors d'oeurves, dinner, linens, chivari chairs, 1 hr open bar, free night at hotel).  Depending on when you are getting married, the food and beverage minimum might be higher - we chose winter because a lot of vendors will discount then.  And as other ladies have mentioned, Friday and Sunday are cheaper.

I think the Henderson House in Weston was reasonable, too, but it wasn't our style as we wanted something more modern. They were incredibly nice, though!

As you get outside Boston, prices drop - I spoke to the VIlla + Black Rock Country Club on the phone and both were incredibly nice - I never went to see them in person because we decided on Boston proper but they looked good online and were pretty reasonable.

And best advice...cut the guest list!  We are having only about 75 people.

    Good luck!

There are some really nice venues in Southern NH.  We liked the Pelham Inn, but wanted something on the ocean.  The Castleton is also really nice.  BTW....we share a name, same spelling too!!!

</div><div>I second Castleton as a good affordable venue. The outdoor area is pretty and they had really really low cost packages (at least compared to other place). It's just over the boarder to. My H's cousin is actually getting married there next summer. It's right on a beautiful lake.</div>

We booked the Pembroke Country Club, and one of the deciding factors was the price.  We are doing it on a Sunday afternoon to save money, but the prices are reasonable on Saturdays, too.  They also have a new wedding coordinator who really seems to know what she's doing.

Hello! we also booked the Millennium for August 20, 2011 (I wouldn't describe it as inexpensive, though! But for what you get and its location, it's the best value) . I would recommend to look for your own vendors beyond the ones suggested -their suggestions  were priced very high. When are you getting married?

<div>We are getting married in February.  I agree - I am not using any of their vendors except maybe for linens (well, and the cake since it's included).  I am happy to share info with you if you are still figuring stuff out!, Feel free to PM me.  I can also give you the low down after :) True, it's not 'inexpensive' but for downtown Boston, it's definitely lower than some other places.  I also benefited from a short term booking (I was only got engaged in Oct) and doing it in the winter.  </div>

In Salem, MA there is the Knights of Columbus/Nathaniel Silsbee House - it's a historic, beautiful old home with a ceremony room upstairs with a bridal suite, a gazebo across the street at Salem Commons for an outdoor ceremony if you'd like that, and hotels in the area for guests.  The Hall/House for the whole day is 750 and the gazebo is 50 for Salem residents or 100 for non-residents.  It's a great location and would hold the number of people you are planning to have in the hall without a problem!

Good luck, and the website is http://www.kofcsalem.org/ if you are interested!

i'm getting married at Christina's Function Facility in Foxboro, MA.  my FI and i searched for months before we found our site.  They were one of the cheaper places we found and do offer a discount on friday and sundays on food.  My wedding is only about 85 people but they can accomadate alot more.  some people said only flaw is that they are locatednear gillette stadium so if your wedding falls on a game day, your guest have traffic to drive through, but they give you directions using backroads which avoids the traffic completely.  good luck!

Lycem in Salem has a function room upstairs.  My mom and sister looked there for my shower.  The pricing was pretty affordable.

Plus, if you say what you are looking to pay per head, we might be able to help you better.

I third Castleton, I booked there last month.  I'm very happy with the choice.  The owner is awesome and the other girl Stephanie is so down to earth.

Indian Ridge and Andover Country Club were also a great price.

We're getting married at The Coachmen's Lodge in Bellingham. They have a beautiful outdoor ceremony site and they don't have things like function hall fees/cake cutting fees, and they don't have any ridiculous packages. The only ceremony fees they have is per chair, and that is still really cheap. Their prices per plate are also very resonable, everything seems to be within the $20-$30 dollar range. Plus you have a few function rooms to choose from.
