Bridal Shop Recommendations - Boston area

Hi all, I live in RI, my mother and sister are in NH, i am looking for a good bridal shop to meet at to check out dresses that will be about half way for both of us. Any recommendations around the Boston area would be greatly appreciated! Good and not so good feedback welcome. I only have experience with Bella Sera in Danvers. I tried to search for this topic, but my search function wasn't working, so if there is a recent thread on this, I apologize! Thanks so much!

Re: Bridal Shop Recommendations - Boston area

  • How much are you looking to spend on your dress?
  • I really enjoyed my experience at Allegria Bridal in Belmont. The salon is modern and nice inside and I felt the staff was always super nice and accomodating.

  • JB, I am paying for my dress myself, so I don't have a budget set in stone, but ideally less than 2,000 but could go more. Court, good to hear, I was thinking about them since they carry one of the designers I love. Thanks ladies!!
  • Not sure if this is half-way between you, but I got my dress from The Bridal Secret in downtown Quincy. The owner, Judy, was fantastic and my dress was under $2000. Good luck!
  • Precious Memories in Malden gets great reviews on the board. They should have plenty to choose from in that price range.
  • Awesome, thanks ladies!!
  • I've had a great experience with Allegria in Belmont.

I went to Manhattan Bridal in Dedham and had the BEST experience. My dress is absolutely gorgeous and has a ton of beading detail and was under $1000! The owner, Patty was so great! The staff was great and the location is really great too! It's right off of 95 so would be convenient for both your mother and sister, as well as you. Plus there are really great restaurants in the area if you wanted to grab lunch / dinner afterwards. Best of luck to you!!!

  • Definitely go to VOWS.

I also had a great experience at Allegria as well at Christina's (Andover) and Madeline's Daughter (Portsmouth, NH - no sales tax and will sell you samples which takes about 20% off).

I ended up getting my dress at VOWS (in Watertown).  VOWS sells sample gowns and has their own designer (not a famous name brand but gorgeous fabrics and really beautiful styles).  I was able to get a dress at ~40% the cost of a comparable designer brand.  It is a bit hit or miss and can be slightly overwhelming but if you find something, it is well worth it - especially in the price range you are talking about.

    Good Luck!

I had a fabulous experience at Madeleine's Daughter in Portsmouth and my dress was under $2K.

I also tried on gowns at Allegria and VOWs and they were nice as well.

  • I would definitely check out Precious Memories in Malden. After the great reviews I saw here, I went this past weekend (after checking out another bridal salon) and got my dress there. Marise was my consultant and she was terrific.
