Hampshire House?

My fiance and I just moved to Boston.  I would like to have an intimate wedding up here in our new city, but neither of us are from New England (he's from NJ/DC and I'm from AZ/midwest...ok not relevant)

Has anyone had a ceremony and/or reception at the Hampshire House?

What is your feedback on this location?

We did our rehearsal dinner at the Hampshire House (75 people - ah!) and it was wonderful.  We used the Library and the bar area outside there.  The staff was wonderful, the food fantastic...I have nothing but raves.  It's a great location for guest access too.

Doesn't Hampshire House has a smaller maximum than 100?  We are having 100 guests and I looked there and remember it being too small for my wedding.  I am not sure, though.  I've never been to a reception/wedding there, but have dined there (in the library).  It's so beautiful and the staff was wonderful.

We didn't have our wedding at the Hampshire House but we had our Rehearsal Dinner at Cheers in Faneuil Hall-- which was through Hampshire House (all the planning and catering was done through them).

From first hand experience, they were amazing to work with.  Their coordinators were on top of their game.  We had a R&D of 50+ and we were able to come in for a tasting that was at the Hampshire House.  The day we went there was a reception there and the setup was cozy and beautiful.  We had a private tasting and the chef was willing to customize anything we wanted.

The day of the R&D the entire staff was clearly briefed and knew both FI & I by name.  It was really impressive and not to mention made us feel good. The staff was attentive and fun with our guests.

I would say it is well worth to at least go and check the place out and meet with a coordinator there.  I had nothing but great things to say about them but clearly my situation is different than a wedding.  Good luck!

Yay! We're having our wedding for 85 people at the Hampshire House May 29th!  All the people I've meet with so far have been really nice, cooperative and easy to work with.

They actually hold an open house every year for engaged couples, and its Feb 24th this year (so says their website)

I was pretty sold on the place anyway, but we went to the open house last year and they had samples of their food & drink, and had a ton of vendors there as well. It was fun, and free! And they had prizes last year too, I won pearls!

The open house was a good way to get a feel for the place in a "party" atmosphere.
