Announcements in the newspapers..how do you submit them?

I found a really old thread that showed how you could post announcements in the Globe or other local papers but unfortunately the link to boston.com did not work. Does anyone know how to submit announcements to the papers, particularly wedding announcements to the globe, and how far in advance of the wedding you have to do it?

Not sure about the Globe but I know my MIL submitted our announcement via mail. She sent it in a few months after we were engaged.

Just click on add your announcement.  You can do it all online.  I was surprised to see that most major newspapers charge a fee.  I can't remember how high it was for the Globe-- I want to say around $150!  We submitted to our local papers online and did not have to pay a fee for those smaller papers.

I think you can submit anytime.  We just did an engagement announcement and it was in the paper the following week.
