Venue Ideas/Help...Please!

Hi Everyone,

The FI and I are back to the drawing board for venues.  Any ideas would help please!

Criteria:
MA/NH area- Boston would be great but not further south, We could go anywhere up to Manchester, NH
more than 200people (we are having guest list issues) room for 250 would be great
we like more modern rooms- lots of windows...think seaport lighthouse room, taj rooftop defiantly not typical ballrooms
prefer the minimum to be 40 or less- please nothing crazy

Thanks girls!

Did you check out the large ballroom at the Danversport Yacht club? Tons of windows and an outdoor terrace overlooking the ocean. . stunning.

The stateroom has quoted us numerous different prices so my parents are just very nervous.  Also extras are very expensive so we would probably have to cut out alot and just have basics there.  Thanks for the thought though!

I will look into the other two suggestiong though!

Have you tried Park Plaza, Copley Fairmont, or Omni Parker House? I've been to weddings at all of those, and they''re all beautiful. Omni has a gorgeous ballroom with a view.
The others don't have the view per se, but are gorgeous and meet the numbers that you're trying to have.
I'm a Boston bride getting married in NH so let me know if you have any questions about sites up there.

We are getting married at the Millennium and it seems to fit the bill for your criteria, but, Pesapenny is right - not sure if it's big enough.  You could also look at MIT Faculty Club? It is definitely a traditional ballroom but the views of the Charles are very nice and they seemed easy to work with.  I never went to see it, but there's also the Sky Club?  Good luck!

we looked at the millennium but the most they can do is 150ish. we loved it but to small so we're having our wedding at the aquarium in the new tent out back.

When I first started looking at venues this past May I had fallen in love with the Portsmouth Harbor Events Center in Portsmouth, NH.  It was part of a brand new hotel that was being built.  Unfortunately we didn't book it because it was still under construction.  It's was completed I think in July.

I can't remember how much they said they can hold, but it was a lot.  Their prices were extremely reasonable for what you get.  Plus it's new, modern, and in a beautiful location ;)

I am getting married at Cruiseport in Gloucester in May.  The room is huge, completely modern with TONS of floor to ceiling windows right on the water.  They have an outside area to use for cocktail hour if the weather is fitting.  You book the whole place when you book, meaning you have access to all areas for anything that you need.  No other events, brides, etc.  The whole focus is on you.  It is absolutely beautiful, I highly recommend checking it out!
