Museum of Science, Boston

I cannot wait another minute to review my reception venue, the Washburn Pavilion at the Museum of Science! I wanted to do it the minute I left the reception, but somehow managed to hold off to try and enjoy the post-wedding bliss! I literally cannot say enough good things about the venue or the staff at the Museum with whom I worked, most especially Sheryl White Vincent and Keith Mahoney, Wolfgang Puck's catering manager. It was the first venue that my now husband and I saw, and although I continued to look, I could not get over the BEAUTIFUL city skyline and scenic setting, basically set on top of the Charles River, with an absolutely picturesque view of Boston. We wanted something in Boston, albeit something unique, and this setting was absolutely perfect. From the beginning, the staff (Keith) was warm and unpretentious, unlike many other Boston vendors with whom we met. It only got better from that first meeting, especially when we  did our tasting and were introduced to Sheryl (who started the wedding program at the MOS). Sheryl and Keith were an unbelievable team-- working together they provided the perfect balance of attention to detail, expertise, experience, humor, and exceptional food. I have to admit my father was quite a skeptic going in after being traumatized by Wolfgang Puck experiences at the airport (Wolfgang Puck is the MOS caterer and you have to use them), but even he was impressed. The food was DELICIOUS!!! I still have guests telling me how good our food was and I just am so sad that I did not get to eat enough at the reception! Sheryl and Keith paid attention to the littlest details that we mentioned in conversations or at our tasting, from the extra bok choy leaves my husband wanted on his fish to how I wanted everything arranged and laid out. Sheryl held my hand, calmed me down about the weather, and kept me on track with everything in a warm, thoughtful way, greeting me with a checklist the day before the wedding when I dropped everything off at the museum to make sure I had not forgotten anything. They may work at a museum but they are seasoned wedding pros! I have to give a special shout out to Sheryl who sent me pictures almost daily the entire week before the wedding of the progress they were making as the landscapers planted trees, flowers, and other plants as the tent went up, since I had made the somewhat risky decision to have a semi outdoor wedding at the end of April and after 3 weekends in a row of rainy, cold days was constantly worried about the potential muddy, soggy grass my guests would be walking on for cocktail hour. Fortunately, I lucked out with the day and my photographs are amazing (more to come on that vendor, the amazingly talented Mr. Zev Fisher, whom I also cannot say enough good things about...) I could go on and on about all the little perks like the complimentary parking that your guests get when you book the MOS as your venue, or the free passes to the MOS that all your guests get the weekend of the wedding, or the uniqueness of the venue, and the amazing, attentive staff that you will get to work with, like those who worked the night of our wedding, including Lisa Cigna, and Gail (the wonderful personal attendant who made sure my husband and I had everything we needed). Simply put, the MOS exceeded all of my expectations (and my parents and fiance/husband's too!) and truly helped me have the best day of my life. Sure, it's always a gamble with the weather, but rain or shine, with this venue, you can't go wrong.
