CEREMONY SPACE IN BOSTON

Can anybody recommend a chapel/church in the Boston/Cambridge (harvard square) area fit for about 150 people? We are not very religious if that helps... actually we are not AT ALL religious Undecided

I love the Emmanuel Chapel, but we just attended a family wedding there about two months ago, so we're not too thrilled about bringing the family there again for ours.

Thanks Knotties!!!

The Hyatt Cambridge has an outdoor tent that's right on the Charles that might work.  Good luck!

The MIT Chapel in Cambridge - I just saw it in a photo and haven't seen in person but the pictures blew me away so much I wanted to move my ceremony there!!  Google it and you'll see what I mean - it's non-descript from the outside but the inside looks amazing and it was designed by a famous architect.

I have no idea how many people it holds.

    Good luck!

I second the MIT recommendation.  Also there is Marsh Chapel at BU.  They have a gorgeous space, their only caveat is that you can't use a JP (at least, that was the way it was when I was a student there.)  There are also a handful of small Episcopal churches in Brookline that could hold 150 just fine.

MIT Chapel DEFINITELY doesn't hold 150.  The capacity is under 100, but I don't remember the exact number.  Don't know the rules on sponsorship, etc. I've heard it has to be a religious ceremony of some sort--not a justice of the peace civil ceremony--to hold it there, but I haven't verified this myself.

More to the point: Check out the Swedenborg Chapel in Harvard Square.
