Menu Opinions...

We have our tasting next month and have to pick 4 hors d'oeurves and can not decide, they all look so good. Which of the 4 below would you like to eat for passed apps at cocktail hour? We are also having a raw bar with shrimp, crab, clams and oysters and a cheese display.

scallops wrapped in bacon
parmesan artichoke hearts
Lobster with roquefort cream sauce
baby lamb chops
beef wellington
tomato, mozz, basil on crustini
spanikopita

Thanks!!

Well, I would also have to know your entrees to make an informed decision.
For example, we served lobster, so I stayed clear of lobster as an hors d'oeuvres.

Also, I think scallops and bacon is overdone on the cape. Maybe do it for your rehearsal dinner instead. Baby lamb chops are hot right now.

These along with the raw bar sound amazing, can I come crash??  :)

I would avoid the spanikopita - no one likes spinach in their teeth at a formal event :-)  And make sure you include one of the vegetarian options.

Agree w/ Meg that bacon wrapped scallops are a bit over-done - but they are still delicious!

The first 2 sounds really good!  I don't eat lobster or lamb, so the scallops and beef sound good to me.  I'd think about what your crowd likes (eg. are they meat eaters, like vegetarian, etc).  You do already have a lot of seafood, so maybe do the lamb instead of the scallops if your group will like it.

    Yum!!

PS.  I agree, bacon wrapped scallops are common, but that's because everyone loves them!  :)

    bacon scallops
    baby lamb chops
    crostini
    parmesan artichoke hearts

I went to a wedding where all the passed apps were dairy heavy, it wasn't fun for a lactose intolerant loser like me!

if your doing a seafood display I would stay away from seafood option for the passed apps.....beef wellington and chop would be good....and the crostini!

I'm Greek so I love spanikopita - but I hadn't thought about the possibility of spinach in your teeth for the wedding!  If you don't want to have to worry about that, I like these four best, personally:

    scallops wrapped in bacon
    parmesan artichoke hearts
    beef wellington
    tomato, mozz, basil on crustini
