Hotels - Maron hotel, danbury CT

This is a copy from the CT post but I figured I would try to post it here also since a lot of girls are getting married at the same place I am & I need some help.

After doing a lot of researching it seems like the Maron hotel has the best deals. (free breakfast & shuttle and a late night bar/resturant). My only concern is that I read lots of bad reviews about the place ( like its dirty & out of date).

Has anyone used this hotel for their overnight accomendations for the wedding night or at any other time? I don't want my guests staying in a cr*ppy hotel

P.S. I was originally going to use the Hilton in Danbury, but they charge for a lot of extras that the Maron doesn't.

Hi! I used the Maron for the wedding and I got the recc from another bride. (I'm gonna get her here for a review for you). The room I had for the day before and night of the wedding was fine. It was spacious and wasn't dirty. The shuttle worked well as well as the continential breakfast. It was nice to spend time with guests the next day.

    Where are you getting married?

There is also a Hilton Garden Inn...never stayed there, just live close and know it is there.

Hi I used the  Maron Hotel for my May 2010 wedding. It worked out perfectly.  There are not a lot of hotels to consider esp. if a bar is important to you.  The Hilton doesn't have a bar.  My guests came back and closed the bar down after the wedding.  My room was fine and i saw a lot of people downstairs at breakfast the next morning.  They also gave us a shuttle which was a life saver.  I hope that helps let me know if you have any other questions.

We are getting married at the Villa Barone in Mahopac. My only issue w/the HItlon is that they charge extra for things that the Maron will do for free - breakfast and a bar that says open late.

Thanks girls! It makes me feel a little better. Maybe I will just stop by again and look at the rooms (I just saw the lobby and resturant).

I always thought that Hilton Garden Inn's included breakfast in the room charge...just curious.  And I don't blame you about the bar....at the hotel for our wedding, you could pay $$ to have it stay open so we were going to just party in someone's room...i wasn't paying $200 for that...and then we got back and the bar was open...some other bride paid for it to stay open so we all took advantage ;)

Jaimie I know really liked the hotel (Maron).

I looked at both Hilton Garden Inn and the Maron Hotel (and a bunch of others) when we were looking. We ended up using the Hilton Garden in Fishkill. They were able to include the breakfast into the special rate for guests in our block. So if you like Hilton, you might want to look in to that, the bar there you would probably need to pay for though.

But it does sound like you are getting a lot more at the Maron Hotel. The pool tables alone make the bar more fun anyway!
