POB woes (BM dresses)

So I got a frantic call from MOH today saying that she called POB to finalize her bm dress order and they informed her that the dress she was ordering was being discountinued as of next week and that we needed to get all the orders in if she and other girls want that dress (they have a choice).  Kicker is they asked if she would be comfortable telling me!

Umm--seriously??  So I call them up and they inform me that 3 of the 5 choices will be discontinued as of next week.  They said they thought they had called all the brides.  Both of FI's sisters have appointments for Dec 30, which will be too late and one of them is in college in the middle of no where Indiana so there is no way she can try them on.  They basically said that if she wanted one of the ones that was being discontinued she would have to pick online.

Ugh...we all know how I feel about POB...I'm sorry they are hurting yet another bride. Blah...I would have your girls look at the dresses online and see if they can get measured by a roomie or go to a local seamstress to get measured if they really love one of the discontinued styles. I'm sorry :( Boo POB shame on you...I thought they would have learned by now!

Ugh sorry :(  I got an email from them today that one of the dresses I was looking at was being discontinued, but luckily the girls bought a different dress elsewhere on Saturday.  GL with everything....

Oh man, girl-- I'm so sorry.  POB has GOT to work out their issues when it comes to customer service.  It appears as though they have burned a ton of brides but (and i'm biased here....) they have a BEAUTIFUL selection of both bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses.

There is always the jenwindy approach??  She loved the pleated dresses (also happens to be the same ones we went with in chocolate brown, ha!) and had them custom made?  That could be an option.

Or if the dresses can closely match that of another designer perhaps go with those instead?

I'm sorry hun-- you picked those dresses out for a reason (umm... beacause they're beautiful!) and this really stinks!!

I know of a girl on Chatty Brides that had her dresses made at Chantilly Place in Lowell to match POB ones.  She wanted a shade of pink they didn't have.  The owner agreed to charge her the same price as PoB, and since they were custom made, no alterations were necessary.  HTH!  That sounds stressful!

I think we may be able to get all the orders in under the wire.  I just feel terrible for FI little sister, who is in the middle of finals and trying to find somewhere to measure her in Greencastle, IN (middle of nowhere!)
