After I posted here, I talked to my venue. They can rent them for us for $7 each.. I am hoping to find cheaper..

Christmas tree shops sell Gold Charges for like $1.50 each. Recently they had clear glass ones too for $3.00 each. Much cheaper then anywhere charges to rent them.

I agree! Christmas Tree Shops have them quite often! I know the one in Patriot's Place has them frequently!

Hi there, I usually post on the RI board, but noticed your thread. I will have some gold chargers for sale after my June wedding. You can email me k.appleby@hotmail.com if you're interested!

Also check Peterson Party Center.  They rent gold ones for $1.25 or $1.50 per person.  You just wouldn't be able to sell them and get some of the money back.

I debated this issue for awhile, and I ended up going without the chargers.  I am going to have a my favor box, napkin with a ribbon belt holder and a gorgeous letterpress menu at each place setting, along with all the glassware, centerpiece and lots of votives, so I felt like there was a lot going on already.  The chargers do add a nice finish, but I don't think they are 100% necessary.

    Thanks guys...

I agree they are not necessary.. and I am torn. I think the favor, napkin, menu and glassware may be enough...

You could also potentially consider these to dress up the place setting area.  I'm putting them on my favor boxes, but she has pictures at place settings.
