I don't have a tatto, but have alwways wanted something to commemorate my grandparents, who both had the same initials. My grandmother, who was incredibly close to me, wrote me a poem right before she died. FI and I will be using it throughout the wedding, on our E party invitiations as well as the programs during the ceremony.

each line of poen ends in "always." after the wedding is over, i'm going to get the word always tattooed on my inner left foot in remberance of my grandparents and also, loving my FI always.

I think that would be such a cute idea! I love tattoos as I have 6 and I'm not done yet. I think they are living artwork and who cares if you don't like them one day because we are all dieing anyways!

    1. My lovely tramp stamp, 2 butterflies and flowers on my lower back.

    2. A shamrock with angel wings and a halo on my shoulder to commemorate one of my best friends that died in a car accident when he was 21.

    3. A nautical star with waves coming off it on my right hip. Marieke means "star of the sea". I also LOVE the ocean more than almost anything.

    4. The exact same thing on my other hip. I was having symmetry issues that day.

    5. A tribal on my foot that says "love" if you look at it the right way. I got it on spring break in Florida when I was wasted but I do love it.

    6. My favorite tattoo is the last one I got this past August. It's a daffodil (birth flower for March) with Anthony's name below it and it's on my left ribs. I guess I have to do this for all my kids now!

I will most likely not get a tattoo for the wedding/Michael. My tattoo artist told me getting a tattoo for a significant other is the "kiss of death" and a curse and I'm a bit superstitious when it comes to tattoos!

I highly reccommend Markus at Kaleidoscope on Mass Ave. in Cambridge. He is truly an artist, and the shop is very clean.

M - I've also heard a tattoo is the "kiss of death" - but, it was just such a perfect, fate-driven, universe in harmony, planet at peace kind of moment. I hope I don't ruin it by tattooing it, haha!

Thanks for the shop suggestion too - I've been wondering where I'd even go to get it done!
