Groveland Fairways input

Hi,

My friend is planning her wedding for Fall 2012 and has a date on hold at Groveland Fairways.  She's not super into planning her wedding so I'm helping out a bit.  We came up with a list of venues but she has only looked at Groveland, and feels like there really isn't anything else on list worth checking out.  The things that are important to the couple are open bar, good pictures from the photog, and good music.

Can you please convince us that it's the right choice?

Budget for WHOLE wedding = $15k
Guests = 100 people

The couple lives in Boston but the friends and family are all over New England and NYC.

Other venues on the short list:  Topsfield Common, Andover CC, Tewskbury CC, Exchange Conference Center, Lakeview Pavilion, Danversport Yacht Club.

Are any of these worth a look?  Has anyone already had their wedding at Groveland Fairways and loved it?

    I haven't had my wedding yet with Groveland but I will be in July of 2012.  Feel free to pm me with any questions or if your friend wants to talk to me.  I think you can do 100 people with 15k budget at Groveland Fairways.  I am super excited about my wedding and Liz has been really good to work with.

    I'm getting married in February at the Groveland Fairways and it is amazing! Like Michelle said Liz is absolutely amazing to work with. 15k for 100 people is definitely doable at Groveland. The venue and the catering is less than 10k for us and we invited 190 people.

    My sister got married at the Topsfield Commons back in 2010 and it was absolutely beautiful but more expensive.

    Good luck to your friend, it's so nice of you to help out!

    We looked at Groveland and strongly considered it, but decided on another venue in the end. Liz seemed amazing, so that is a plus. We looked at Lakview Pavilion and it is a lot more than your budget...it also has a lot of rules as far as guest count. I looked at a few others on your list but don't remember specifics enough to give an opinion.

    I would Check out Danverport yacht club. They have a package and Nahant country club is Nice and Affordable
  • I don't recommend Danversport I think they are a bit overpriced for what they have to offer, also the ballroom area seems a bit out of date. I also had my prom there 5 years ago and I don't remember the food being particularly good. Give it a shot if she is really interested, maybe things have gotten better since then. Also if you're checking out Nahant Country Club you might also want to check Bayside and Oceanview which are also in Nahant.
