Need a getaway

Any ideas for a local overnight trip?.  FI and I need to get away for a day or 2.  Couple hours drive is fine.

I really don't know specific hotels but pretty much any hotel on the Cape (Hyannis - definitely go to Cuddles and Bubbles, they have couple sized jacuzzi tubs, love, love, love them!) is great or on the Vineyard/Nantucket and since it's the off season, it's much cheaper. I *think* on the Vineyard, I went to Nauset House or something similar and it was good but my room didn't have a TV.

I also love the Berkshires (again, sorta the off season) but I'm sorry, I don't know the particular hotels. They have a website and they list the hotels in that area.

For a weekend getaway, MH and I tend to spend our weekend in the room just relaxing so for us, at least the location doesn't matter - just the comfiness of the room/hotel does.

    Haha, that's too funny.

Other "berkshires like" places are obviously VT (Burlington is about 4 hours away and MH went to school there and LOVES it), I also love NH (Loon, Southhampton - area), Maine (anywhere, lol).

I also like Salem - it's pretty cool even when it's not Halloween.

If you like skiiing or snowboarding, North Conway, NH is a great place for that!

My vote is for Burlington VT or Kennebunkport ME.... both have great places to stay and adorable towns to roam around.

Camden Maine! FI took me there for a surprise B-day get away. We stayed at the Camden Harbour Inn and it was the most relaxing trip we have ever taken.
They have a really cute downtown area, it's on the water and there are two wine vinyards that offer tastings. Check it out! http://www.camdenharbourinn.com/

FYI - Ruelala is doing special weekend getaway packages online for about 1.2 the price throughout the next month. If you can hold off until then, maybe you can get a great deal. I know one of them advertised was Maine.

I like Camden or Kennbunkport, Maine. Kennebunkport is a little closer and the outlets are nearby in case of bad weather.

OOO - that could be fun!  I think most of us were thinking north.  This makes me think of NYC as an option, or Newport, RI - which is BEAUTIFUL.

We just did a night at The Wentworth by the Sea in New Castle, NH.  Perfect little getaway.  They have different packages and ours included a $50 spa credit and free breakfast.  There are only 2 restaurants, so there's not a lot to choose from in terms of dining options, but we enjoyed ourselves.  They have a piano player in the lounge at night and we sat and had drinks.  They also have an indoor pool and hot tub, as well as an outdoor hot tub.  It was very nice and less than an hour and a half from Boston.  You can also go to Kittery, which is nearby.

We only had 1 night, but if we had 2, I wanted to go here.  http://www.thesnowflakeinn.com/

Newport, RI!!  Stay at the Hyatt on Goat Island.  It has everything that you need right there and they have a shuttle that will take you downtown for dinner.
