The Pros: videography -anyone use?

I am having trouble finding a videographer who is available and under 2k. Wondering if anyone has used The Pros before and what did they think?

Thanks!

  • Haven't used them, but have heard really bad reviews. They are not a local company and contract out with local vendors. I've heard horror stories where you don't know exactly who your vendor is until a few weeks before the wedding, meaning you don't really get to know their personality first.

Posted by HeatherR45 This statement is not true.  I hired the Pros for all three services.  I booked our videographer Cody Bisnett around May of 2010 and we were married in November of 2011...hardly a few weeks.  Approximately 18 months.  Cody was amazing, I am over the moon thrilled with his final product.  We had options of videographers to choose from.  I did my own research after reviewing the information the Pros provided to me.  I searched the Internet for reviews of the professionals online and even found their personal websites.  They may try to sell you on finished video with the entire night set to music, in my opinion, unless that's what you REALLY want, you don't need it. We did their Basic video package which is the footage raw with only in camera edits.  I am so thrilled that we went with this option.  If we went with the edited version set to music then we would have missed our guests interactions, comments and laughter.  But most importantly we wouldn't have had the best part of our video.  At the ceremony began you can hear my husband and his brother talking while waiting for me to come down the aisle.  Cody had the camera focused down the aisle, and as I turned the corner, my husband saw me, gasped and said out loud how beautiful and amazing I looked.  I truly believe that if we had gone with an editing package I may not have heard that reaction.  I didn't know about it until we were watching the video together.  It made me cry. Don't get me wrong, I did have some issues with the pros and a particular photographer that did not shoot our wedding, but no more than other ladies have had with their vendors who didn't go thru the Pros but went straight thru the vendor themselves.  Actually my husband and I are in awe of some of the horrible experiences that others have had with their direct hire vendors.  I can only speak to my own experiences, but in my experience, The Pros will work with you to be sure everything is as you've envisioned it on your big day. Best of luck with whomever you choose to go through, but I suggest getting feedback from people who have actually contracted the particular company or vendor in question.   Although people mean well and try to warn you, unless your reading a direct review or getting the information from someone who has actually used the vendor, you may be adding unnecessary worry and stress to your already overwhelmed plate.  (I say this because that's what happened to me after reading lots of posts like...I know someone who knows someone who's cousin hired them and here's all the horrible things that happened).  I voiced my concerns, was upfront with The Pros and had a dialogue with them about what wasn't acceptable to me based on what I read.
