Gift Registry

Where did/are you registering for gifts?  We are planning on registering at Bed, Bath & Beyond, and would like a 2nd place also.  Ideas??

We registered at Macys and Crate and Barrel. Macys has everything and everyone usually shops there plus they always have sales & coupons.

You could add Macy's, but they have a lot of the same stuff as BBB. Maybe C&B would be a better choice? Or someplace else that you both like? Pottery Barn, Bloomingdale's, Sears, Williams-Sonoma, or a speciality store...the list is very long. It depends on what you want to register for!

We did BB&B and Crate and Barrel and a Judaica registry at a local store. I really wanted to add a Pottery Barn registry but by the time the shower invites had gone out I didn't like what was in the store so I decided to skip it.

    We have a bunch...
Bed Bath & Beyond for more basic kitchen stuff
Crate & Barrel for the nicer kitchen stuff
UncommonGoods.com (they have a lot of unique items and I buy gifts for other people from there all the time)
VivaTerra.com (for our plates, towels, and sheets, all eco-friendly)
    Amazon.com for the random stuff

Macys and Crate and Barrel--- Macys has some great wedding registry programs right now- you get a certain percentage of each thing purchased off of the registry, and after the wedding they give you a gift card with that balance-- also, they have a lot of incentives to register for certain products. For example, someone bought us our Calphalon pots, and we got Calphalon kitchen utensils and a dutch oven free!

We did BBB, C&B and Macy's.  If you did BBB already, I'd add another specialty store that you like their stuff, like C&B, Pottery Barn, WS, etc.

We only wanted to do 2 stores, but we fell in love with china at Macy’s that BBB didn’t carry.  So the Macy’s registry was mainly just that.  BBB has the same stuff as Macy’s but is generally MUCH cheaper than even Macy’s sale prices.  So we kept the majority of our registry there since we wanted our guests to get the best deal.

BBB also gives the same bonus stuff that Macy’s does (like the Calphalon bonus).  Those are actually run by the manufacturer, not Macy’s.

BB&B and C&B. I love C&B and they were really good with returns and all that stuff, including a couple of items that arrived damaged. We had a few issues where they didn't mark something off the registry when it was purchased, though, so we ended upw ith multiples. Not sure if the people didn't say it was a registry when they bought it though?

Macy's, Williams Sonoma and Crate and Barrel. You don't really need more than 1-2 more places. Anything over that can give the impression you are being gift grabby to yourr guests. Even if you are not, it is not in good taste to be all, "oh and buy me this and this and this and THIS!!"

We're registered at Macy's & BBB.  Macy's has great sales (although BBB wins because of the frequency of their coupons!)

    I wish etsy.com had a registry.
    best day ever! Photobucket Anniversary

We did BB&B and Crate & Barrel...C&B has super-fun "registry parties" where you go before the store opens and only people who are registering are there - they make smoothies and paninis and stuff and let you try out the knives, etc! Highly recommend. When we went there were just 3 couples, ourselves included, with the run of the store!

Also - like a PP said, their customer service has been excellent - no problems exchanging/returning etc.  They also have a "Thank You Manager", which you can choose whether or not to activate (I was a huge registry stalker so I used it) - which helped out a lot after my shower when we weren't sure exactly who had gifted what!
