Not many photographers impress me

I wonder if I am being too picky? This is a very important vendor to us. I feel that I have looked at numerous blogs, and I am like "eh".
There are only maybe 3 photographers that I like.
A Brilliant Photo (Agnieszka Wormus)
Scott Zuehlke
Daria Bishop

Maybe this is enough? How did you choose your photographer?

I looked thru so many blogs/websites before setting up meetings with the ones I liked. We were between 2 photogs that both met what we were looking for as far as price and style. Finally it came down to personality..we figured this person will be shaddowing us on the most important day of our life - so we should go with someone that we reallly click with..
Our photog is Kimberly Atkin and I love her..I had a little issue that was all my fault bc I neglected to read paperwork from her but she resolved it for me better than I could have hoped for! GL with your decision - I think it is a very big one!! :)

Have you checked out Amy Dykens?  I absolutely loved her work before we met with her, then loved the photos from our wedding.  When I realized that she had taken a lot of the promotional shots that the Weqassett used, I felt very safe!

I absolutely loved our photographer, Scott Metzger.  You can see some of our pics in the slideshow he made for us (link in siggy) or in our album proof (link in bio under his review under Vendor Reviews).  He just shot my SILs wedding this past weekend and her pics were absolutely amazing as well (I'd post her slideshow but I don't know if she's comfortable with that).  You should definitely check him out.

Photography is a really personal thing and everyone's taste is different.  If you have looked through the blogs and found 3 that you like, that's great!  And it is not being picky, it is being thorough.  :)

I looked through at least 25 different websites/blogs, many that were recommended from the forums.  I found a bunch I like, but only 3 or so were in my budget.  We met with 2 photogs and we immediately loved one of them.  So we are booking her.  I felt funny, like shouldn't we meet with more people?  But the more websites I looked at, I just kept coming back to hers, so I'm happy with our decision.

I'm starting to realize that sometimes you know early on, and you should just go with your gut feeling instead of second guessing yourself.  I would meet with these 3 and I think you will know if you are happy and ready to book one or if you need to keep looking.

    Good luck!

We used Michelle Caucutt, but she's since relocated to DC.  I also looked at Snap Photography (RI) and Carla Ten Eyck (CT) and was very impressed with both of them.

We are using Scott Zuehlke!!  We only met with two photographers, including Scott, and booked him right after meeting with him.  It only takes one!

I was the exact same way. I looked at every single photographer listed in the Boston vendor section on the knot - I can't even count how many. Out of all of them, I only loved one, and liked 2. I contacted all 3, since my #1 pick was a bit out of our budget - but when I met with her, and she had our date open, I booked her on the spot (Lisa Rigby). It was the best decision we made for the wedding, hands down - we're getting pictures back this Thursday, but I've already seen a ton of previews, and I'm floored.

I agree with PP, photography is a personal choice - and everyone has different taste - but I think it's also something you shouldn't compromise on, don't settle for someone just because they are in your budget. For the rest of your lives, you are going to be seeing these photos, and you'll be seeing them through the photographer's eye - they are the ones who are going to tell your story that day - so make sure it's a story you want to hear :) GL!
