I visited The Granite Rose for a site visit recently and I wanted to walk out before the tour was even started. One high point was it has huge skylights. That was about it. Very dated, very VERY small outdoor ceremony sites and a lot of noticable water damage. The man who gave us the tour walked out in a plaid shirt, jeans and boots with hair the Einstien. I hate to judge on appearences but when you think of a wedding coordinator you do NOT think of someone like that. Also, he kept TOUCHING his TEETH while we were talking to him. YUCK.

Hi,
We toured Granite Rose back in December and really liked it. I thought the place was very well kept and they offered us a great package, but we ended up going with another venue because of the distance from the location where we are having our ceremony. The young woman who took us around was normal, very professional and the place seemed very well organized to us. I would take a look before deciding against it.

We are having our wedding at Brookstone Park on June 9th, 2013. We've met with Alex, he was really nice to talk to and answered all of our questions. He also wasn't too pushy which I liked, some of the other places we've been to really tried to "sell" their venue. The only thing about Brookstone is they are currently doing some renovations to change their restaurant into another reception area, so, depending on when your wedding is, there is a chance they'd be holding 2 weddings at the same time. Not sure if that's a big deal for you, but thought I would let you know. Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions about them!

I looked at Sky Meadow and Brookstone.   I thought the outside area of Sky Meadow was going to be bigger than it was.  I also thought the ballroom could have used an update.  The lady showing us around couldn't have been bothered by us.  She was like this is this and that is that any questions?  I loved Brookstone.  Alex was really nice.  He went over EVERYTHING.  We booked with them because we felt that they would take care of our needs and we loved their ballroom.  I was also concerned about the two wedding thing but Alex confirmed that I would be the only bride at brookstone that day.

sky meadow was really nice but the outside is pretty small, anita showed us around and she was awesome, we were there for an hour i believe...i am going to brookstone on friday night...i think that sky meadow is nice but i am really concerned about the ceremony outside. alex was really nice over the phone.

Alex at Brookstone is lovely.  We were originally booked there, but unfortunately had to change our date and venue due to lower than expected attendance.  You cannot go wrong at Brookstone.

My fiancé and I are having ceremony and reception at Sky Meadow. We got a really great deal for a Sunday...Lynn has been so helpful in helping us plan, responds very quickly. We are having a smallish wedding (about 80ppl) and they are able to accommodate that size or much larger...food was delish when we went for our tasting...I recommend!

I am very torn with sky meadow and brookstone..we went to granite rose and i thought that it was  overpriced and very outdated....brooktsone let us peak in last night with my parents but our formal appointment is tomorrow night..i love sky meadow too- i did the prices out and the difference is not that much..my grandmother is a florist and we have a DJ so brookstone we cant do the vendor packages..we would need to buy the cake seperate for brookstone and those are 1k - i called jacques and the one at sky meadow would be a full tier so it would feed the full 180 and thats what i want for display and if we got it for brookstone we pay 1k for that cake whereas sky is included..

I think if you go with Brookstone you can choose any bakery you want, not just Jacques. So maybe you can find a cheaper bakery to balance the price a bit? Good luck with the appointment tomorrow, I know how hard it is to find a perfect venue!

I am not sure about the centerpieces yet. I am looking into something different from flowers, maybe Morocan lanterns or candles. I believe Brookstone park lets you use candles as long as the flame is enclosed. My MOH and I will check out a few options and see what looks the best, and if none of them work out we'll just go with flower arrangements.

i think i am doing floating candles-- so pretty!!..my grandmother is a florist in dracut. Let me know if you need one! she is awesome!

Floating candles do sound really cute! And thanks! We have not looked for a florist yet so I will definitely keep your grandmother in mind for when we get to that part of planning. Right now we are meeting with photographers/videographers/DJs, and after that we'll move on to flowers/cake/transportation.

Also sky meadow does not include floor length linens and chivari chairs.  You would have to pay more for linens and chairs if you wanted to upgrade.  Atkinson wanted to charge me like $10-12 a chair.

we chose brookstone! we booked yesterday..alex was awesome, we went to meet with him on friday..its just perfect!! i am so excited..sky was lovely but the options for pics were limited i felt like, brookstone there is so many more spots! All we have to worry about is the cake for brookstone and a photographer...i have a dj and my flowers are going to be done by my grandmother...jacques sounds good for cakes! We have met with 4 photographers (what a nightmare!)..we only liked one and we still have 3 more appointments then we will decide. we are having our ceremony on site and itg going to be beautiful! its next august but i am such a planner so this will be all be done soon haha..we just got engaged last month lol..thanks for all the help!

So glad you chose Brookstone! We are also doing the ceremony on site, I loved that you could do it outdoors there! Our wedding is not until next June, but we are also already meeting with photographers, and starting to look into videographers and DJs. Good luck with everything!!!

haha I'm a Brookstone bride too! We're getting married next month! I'm SO excited. I really love Alex, he's very helpful. We were also between Sky Meadow and Brookstone but I hated how unfriendly the staff was at Sky Meadow. I went back there for a second time with both sets of parents and nobody showd up for the appointment - forget that!

Brookstone is lovely and we're getting close!
