Downtown Boston Hotel Block suggestions

Hi everyone!! We're getting married next June in Boston, at the Boston Harbor Hotel, and we're looking for some inexpensive hotel options for our guests so they wont have to pay the over $300 rate at the BHH. The majority of them are coming in from out of town and will need rooms. Since a lot of our friends will be flying in, we're trying to find options that are in the mid 100's. So far we have rooms blocked at the Courtyard on Tremont for $179, and a Holiday Inn on Beacon Street for $189, but that has been the least expensive I can find thus far, that are in decent locations and downtown.

Does anyone have suggestions for hotels in the mid-low 100's in downtown Boston? I know that they may not exist, especially in June, becase we have done SO much searching, but I'd at least thought I would ask you ladies! Thank you!!!

Have you looked into nearby places like the hotels in Kendall Square? Those might be a lot cheaper even if they pay a cab to get there.

Try the Hampton Inn in Cambridge.

Have you tried Hotelplanner.com? It's a great website that will let you put in your location, estimated number of rooms, and budget and hotels will bid their business to you. It's actually how I found my hotel block-- I was searching forever for the best price and location and it found a hotel that I didn't think of.

If your looking for downtown, there's the Colonnade Hotel, Sheraton Boston, and Hilton Back Bay, and depending on business levels, they might be able to give you a good rate.

I started searching about 14 months in advance for a hotel block and ended up finding a better deal, and booking the hotel, about 7 months in advance. In my case, I found a rate that was actually better nearer the wedding once hotels had a better idea what the booking would be like-- and I got married on marathon weekend. Good luck!

The Marriott on Long Wharf is really close to BHH.  We are getting married at the Aquarium next August and the Marriott is quoting us at $230 per night I think.

There is also the Hilton Financial which is really close to BHH as well, just on the other side of the street basically.

We got a great rate at the Seaport Hotel, although that's where we had our wedding.  It's right around the corner from the BHH so it may be worth looking into.  GL!

Thanks! We actually already have rooms blcoked at the Hilton Financial. We're providing a couple options, in a few different price ranges for our guests. We looked at the Marriott and the Seaport as well, but both were in the mid 2's, and were trying to find one more less expensive option for our guests in the mid 100s. Thanks for the suggestions!!

I was just about to post a similar question! But I'm looking more at the Cambridge hotels. Has anyone had any experience with any of them? I'm thinking about the Courtyard Marriott near Central Square, the Sheraton Commander in Harvard, and the Marriott in Kendall. Has anyone gotten block rates at these places?

The Meridien Hotel in Cambridge between Central and Kendall is very reasonable and is a pretty modern hotel.

We are getting married at Boston Harbor this summer and have blocks at Hilton Financial, Intercontinental and Millenium.  Hilton and Millenium were under 200.  The Intercontinental was a little more but less than BHH.

Be careful with the Hilton Financial.  I stayed there with my FH, FMIL and FBIL in April this year during the Boston Marathon weekend.

Two our of our three days there, they ran out of hot water, the housekeeping staff didn't clean our room one day and the trundle bed we requested with the reservation wasn't delivered until after we had called down to remind them.

They ended up giving us a huge discount to make up for it, but just to warn about problems your guests might experience.
