Dress Manufacturers closed in July and August?

Hi,

Has anyone heard that bridesmaid and mother of the bride/groom manufacturers stop working over July and August?  My soon to be MIL told me that she heard this from a number of shops she went to but I have never been told this. She is concerned about getting dresses ordered before then.

I've heard European dress makers close down for most of the summer, that includes bridal gowns.
