Flowers on a Budget?

My fiance and I have a very tight budget when it comes to flowers.  I think they're beautiful, but not completely necessary for our wedding.  I want bouquets for myself and my girls, as well as boutineers for the guys, and maybe a flower corsage for our moms and a throw-away bouquet for myself.  Other than that, I don't foresee us using any other flowers.  We really don't want to spend more than $400 on these items...is it possible?  I've looked into some online whole sale places for ordering flowers around that price, but I'm not thrilled with having to make my own bouquets.  I've heard good things about Lucille's in Fishkill as far as working with a budget is concerned, but haven't heard much else for quality flowers on a budget.  Suggestions please? :)

  • Maybe you could call Lucille's and have a meeting...just to get an idea of what they could do with your budget.

Not sure where you live but is sounds kind of corney but Sams Club in Fishkill has beautiful flowers and the lady charges about 35-40 dollars for a bouquets. She really does an amazing job and doesn't over charge like some places do. You can also bring any materials that you want to use like ribbon, feathers, and rhinestones. That can maybe be an option. Check her out! It couldn't hurt.

I think 35-40 dollars is a great price especially when I met with some florist charge 100-225 for just the brides bouquet.

  • That sounds very reasonable! Thank you, I will definitely check Sam's out! :)

  • I'd go with Lucille's in Fishkill as well.  I feel the same way and I refuse to spend more than $1500 on flowers for the entire wedding and I'm well within my budget having gone with her!

  • Check out Rosemary's Flowers in Wappingers Falls.  She's the only florist out of the 7 that I met with who not only stayed under budget but gave me every flower that I wanted.  I didn't have to change a thing.  Sadly most of the florists around here hear the word wedding and jack up the prices...she is NOT like that.  Be sure to check them out!!
  • Sutton Florist in New Rochelle.  Much nicer options and nicer flowers than Lucille, and kept me in the same price range.

  • I'm using Bouquets by Christine IN Hopewell, I am also on a budget and her bouquets and beautiful and very very reasonable.

  • I made my own bouquets from flowers I bought from local grocery farm type stores.  They looked awesome.  Easy to do... learn from videos on youtube.  Get a friend to help.
