hey,
so like many of you, I've become somewhat obsessed with finding the perfect vendors (within my modest budget) for our november Boston reception...
I've booked most of my vendors, but have had a very hard time finding a DJ that feels right. I've been to alot of weddings where I was completely underwhelmed by the DJ, and I want to make sure that I can find someone that can help make our wedding lively and fun, without being tacky.
After doing an immense amount of research, myself and Scott (my fiance) were leaning heavily towards DJ Nate from djnato.net. He is a very stylish guy, within our $1500 budget, and has gotten outstanding reviews for being an energetic and hip DJ.
Scott, being a meticulous guy, decided to do a little last minute research to make sure all our t's were crossed and i's dotted, before we proceeded with the booking....We found out that Nate had recently launched a new company called white label wedding djs (whitelabelweddingdjs.com). It was an awesome site, and we got even more excited. There was just one detail that seemed a little off to Scott---that white label had displayed a badge of being a "knot.com" best of pick for 2011. This wouldn't have stood out, but we had actually just combed through that list earlier in the week (and followed all the links) and we didn't remember seeing it on there. When we doubled checked, it turns out that he wasn't on the list....We emailed the knot.com to double check that we weren't misunderstanding something, and they in fact confirmed that white label was included in the knot's wedding vendor directory, but that they were not a "best of" pick and weren't authorized to display the "best of" logo on their site.
Anyways, judging by their site, white label and dj nate seem like good people, and i'm sure this was all an honest mistake....
but I'm just kinda not 100% confident anymore, and thinking that maybe I should consider going with some of the other DJ's I previously ruled out because they were out of our budget.
If anyone has any feedback or suggestions of a hip, fun, non-cheesy dj (preferably not super expensive) that would be rad.
