Name Change Process?

I'm getting married this September 18th, 2010.
When do I go through the whole name change process before we get married or after the honeymoon?
I have no idea where to even begin. My fiance and I are going to our city's town hall tomorrow and filing for a marriage license. I guess it takes 3 business days.
Any help would be great.

You can't start the name change process until after the wedding.  When you get back from the honeymoon you can call the clerks office to see if your certificate is back yet.  Once you get your certified copies you can start the name change process.

I'm assuming you are flying to your honeymoon anyway, so you have to make sure your ID and your tickets match up. So yes, after the honeymoon once the certificate is filed. I'm told it's usually about 2 weeks.

After you get back, you get a copy of your marriage certificate. Then you change your name with Social Security, then change your license at the DMV, then you can change everywhere else (work, bank, credit cards, bills, etc)...

Thanks! Now I don't have to worry till after the honeymoon . Works for me. One less thing to deal with right now.

How exciting! I know I still can't believe it's this close! I feel like I still have so much to do too. OOT bags, place cards vs seating chart, programs, final photographer must take list and so on. Is your wedding around Boston?
