Tip for Makeup Trial?

So my makeup trial is this week. I'm going to a salon to get it done rather than going to a makeup artist specifically. Should I tip the person doing the trial?? Or just tip on the day of? Tricky tricky...

I tipped for my trial.  I've read that you don't have to, but I felt too guilty not to.

I didn't tip because it was more like- well let's see what we can do. I didn't walk out of there looking all done up. Also I felt that $40 (cost of the trial) was plenty for the time/effort. Really they should do free trials, I mean no other vendor charges you for what amount to the interview!

I would say tip. My neighbor is a stylist and she does not make what you pay the salon, she only gets a percent of it. Also, I think they charge because fo the material cost. Makeup is expensive, almost every artist I have spoke with charges a fee, and like you said you did leave all made up so you got something out of it, hope you went out that night and made good use of your beautiful face:)
