Ceremony Programs - How Many?

Hi Ladies!

I am starting to make ceremony programs.  I need your help!  How many programs should I make if I am going to have 120 guests?

Thank you so much for your help on this!

Have a great day :-)

I would say to make at least 130-135, you want extras!

We had 180 guests and did 125 programs and I have 20+ left over...not everyone came to the ceremony and not everyone took one, some couples only took one to share. This is definitely a place you can save a little money by not printing one per person. LMK if you need more info.

we are printing half the number of guests.
We figured one per couple. Trying to save money where we can :)

We had about 35 for 45 guests. There were still leftovers. You definitely don't need one for everyone. I would print about 80.

I'd do 80-90, like pp have said, not everyone takes one, and couples usually share. I printed 125 for 143 guests, and we had about 15 leftover.

I agree you can definitely print less-- more than half, probably, but less than 100. I know FI and I always only take one. And he usually doesn't even look at it, while I read the whole thing cover to cover before it starts :)

I would do half + ~15 extra to be safe + a few extra for yourself as a souvenir. People will share. Some won't read them. A lot won't keep them. Kids mostly don't care.

are most of you doing programs? I was going to skip them....

I would do 120. But to the above poster, I think you could skip them. They are a nice way to say thankyou to people who have helped with the planning. But, honestly, I think I have thrown away every program for a wedding that I have gone to...i am bad i know:)

The golden rule I've read (at least in Bridal Bargains, I think) is 75% of the total guest count.  I know it's unrealistic, but hope people keep my program

Other options, if you have room in your budget for more expensive papers, would be to print on highly recycled paper or on paper that has seeds embedded. Then, when they get thrown away, it's really not that big of a deal. Because we all know that unless people are serious scrap-bookers and the wedding is highly important to them, they're going to throw the programs away.
