VENT: Issues with Montillio's?

Just curious, has anyone had issues with Montillio's?  They are starting to bug me.  I'm trying to set up an appointment to come in for a cake tasting and I called 3 times on Friday and sent an email.  The first time i called I got put on hold then they hung up on me.  The second time I called they told me to call back in an hour.  The third time, they sent me to voicemail so I left a message.  They called me back today at work and I missed the call, called back 10 mins later, got sent to voicemail again.

Anyway, I'm just annoyed.  If it is this hard to set up an appointment, how annoying are they once you need your cake?  I called KM and made an appt on the first try.  Oh well... just venting really.

OMG SAME HERE. It took me a MONTH to set up a meeting. My hotel pays for the cake from them so they are my only choice. They have a GREAT reputation for the cakes themselves but I am NOT thrilled with their customer service! I FINALLY got them booked this weekend. We are going in a few weeks.

    INSANE.

Hmm, strange.  For me, their response time has been great via email.

Well I guess it is good it is not just me, but how annoying!!

I just called back and finally got through (I must have gotten lucky!).  I made an appt for 4/24!  I so can't wait to taste cake!!

Have you picked a cake design yet?  I cut one I loved out of a magazine, but I LOST it!!!  I'm so bummed...

We actually had our tasting this weekend at the Brockton Montillio's and had a great experience. They were super helpful in picking both the design and flavor we wanted. They have a lot of pictures to look through and the cake was amazing!  We decided to drive to Brockton even though Quincy is closer because they had better tasting hours. Good luck!!

OMG- I had the same issues! I tried calling, emailing, and leaving a voicemail. I never heard back from the voicemail or email. Finally I called and selected "0" instead of the extention they recommended on the website and I was able to make an appointment. Try doing that! Good luck!

There customer service is absolutely terrible.  They are awful to deal with.  But our hotels offered KM or Montilios and Montilios cake was far superior at least in my opinion and as far as my taste in cake goes.  So we went with them anyways.

I second the Brockton location. When my sister got married, she went there instead of the one in Quincy even though that was way closer to us. She was glad she did cause she also got great service at the one in Brockton.

Which one are you calling/going to?

That's so bizarre. I called and got through right away, and made an appointment at the Qunicy location. When we got there, they had a table and consultant all ready and waiting for us. We tried 8 different flavors of cake, looked through all of their photobooks. Our consultant was so sweet and patient. Nothing but good things to say about them so far! :)

Huh, maybe they are really busy for Easter?  yeah, I tried dialing 0 (one my first 3 calls) that's when they basically ended up hanging up on me.

I'm sure they'll be better after this, I hope anyway!  The woman I talked to was very nice, but I have to say I was frustrated trying to get through to them.

I can't wait to try cake!!!

My sister had the same issue when she was planning and that was almost a year ago.  THey seemed to be really swamped and unable to get back to customers very well.  She ended up going with a cake place that was easier to reach and deal with (Icing on the Cake).

They were actually a preferred vendor from my wedding venue and covered in the package I selected.  So my fiance and I took the drive up to Quincy had our cake tasting and ordered.

1 week later I checked the website for my wedding venue and they were off of the preferred vendor list.  I contacted the owner and she told me they had such a hard time getting in touch with them and they were late delivering cakes several times so they didn't feel comfortable recommending them anymore.

Luckily we were able to cancel the order with them at no charge to us.  But just wanted to pass that along!

I had issues w them as welll when I was trying to do my cake tasting. The guy kept trying to get me to go to Brockton when Quincy is much more closer for me. (Im a Braintree girl) When I finally got him to agree to Quincy on a Friday afternoon that was an issue as well. Anyways the tasting was great and my cake is going to look fabulous but I was getting upset when they were not listening to me.
