Inexpensive Videographer

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive videographer? I have a great photographer and had thought I would skip the video, but after hearing people talk about it I'm afriad I might regret not having one (but don't want to spend much as I didn't really budget for it). I would be fine with someone less experience as its sort of secondary to the photos in my mind. I'd thought about using this: http://weddings.storymixmedia.com/how-it-works-weddingmix-wedding-video.html
But I don't want to make my family/friends work for my wedding and I'm also afraid they won't capture everything even with multiple cameras.

How much are you willing to spend.  That would help give you ideas.

Rebecca Curtis is the lowest price that I had found when I was looking.  Lots of girls have used her in NH and speak highly of her.  I know she travels.

Oh, I would not use that website, mostly for the reasons you already mentioned.  1) it is not appropriate to put the responsibility of filming your wedding on you family/friends (unless they volunteer).  But even then, it is a lot of work and you really just want them to enjoy the day, not work it.  2) the quality will be terrible.  Even if the cameras they rent you are HD, they are very cheap cameras and the quality will suck.  And if you have people running them who have no experience using them, the shots will suck.  They probalby use an on board microphone, so you won't hear anything (like your vows, etc). You'll just hear echo, clapping and ambient noise from the person shooting.

If you go this route, you will waste your money, burden your friends/family who you ask to record it and ultimately be disappointed by what you end up with.  Unless you *really* don't care about it, either hire a professional or just forego it altogether.  If you post your budget, people can help you find someone you can afford.

    What's your budget?

I'm using Jeremy Folster from Folster Video. He's on the south shore, and has packages starting at $900.  We're using his $1200 package, and the sample dvd he sent is fantastic.

I highly recommend Darryn from Harborview (http://harborviewvideo.com/)!

He shot our wedding in October, was friendly, totally unobtrusive and was really affordable ($1k).

Our wedding DVDs were waiting for us on return from our 2 week honeymoon, so his turnaround is really fast.  He created an edited version as well as providing us DVDs with ALL of the raw footage.
    best day ever! Photobucket Anniversary

Definitely Rebecca Curtis, www.curtisweddings.com. She is like $700 or something and even less if you do not want edited video. We used her and she was awesome. Plus we got our video within a couple weeks.

I also booked Rebecca Curtis based on the information I found on this board.  Her prices were the best hands down and she does travel.

Thanks for the suggestions! I was thinking under $1000. I've actually done video editing myself many times before (although not in a while) so I'd be open to just raw footage. However if I can get a good deal that includes editing even better.

Unfortunately Rebecca Curtis is already booked for my date, so any other suggestions are welcome.
