Weekend Away Ideas?

April 10th is our 3yr anniversary.  I'd like to go away for 2 nights.  He just wants one night so we can do other things the day before and day after.

We'll travel between RI, CT, MA, NH, ME and VT.

We don't have a ton of $ to do this so the hotel  or B&B doesn't need to be fancy.  It just needs to be close to fun areas.

Any ideas?  I hope Smile

Newport? Or maybe Kennebunkport? Its the off season for both, so rates should be cheap, but some places could also be closed. Or how about end of season skiing at someplace like Stowe?

I love going up to Portland for the weekend...there's tons to do and you can stay right downtown so you don't have to drive anywhere. Same for Portsmouth, actually, but that's closer to me so I don't consider that to be too "away," if you know what I mean. Have fun!

I love Newport :) thus why I am getting married there haha. How about Arcadia National Park in Maine? or North Conway, NH is always gorgeous too!

We stayed in Waterbury VT for my birthday last year. It was sort of like a bed and breakfast, but they have individual cabins with wood stoves and its very romantic and not as rustic as camping outside or anything. Its the same area as the Ben and Jerry's factory/museum and close enough to Burlington to drive out to the city one night for a fancy dinner and some shopping.

I just got back from a weekend in Newport - its offseason so everything is less expensive than in the summer. We stayed in The Viking Hotel, which is BEAUTIFUL and has a great pool and spa. The restaurants are great and there are a bunch of cute shops that you can poke in. Hope that helps!

FI & I went to this super fun cardboard sled race at Mt Sunapee in NH last year.  This year it's April 10th!

FI and I are actually going to VT this weekend for a mini birthday getaway....

We're going to Waterbury, VT and going to check out Ben & Jerry's, Cabot, Cold Hollow Cider Mill, and and the local downtown shops/restaurants.... We're staying at a B&B and I think it was $89 before tax for a queen bed room for one night...

Thank you all for the ideas!  I love going South and he loves going North.  If I cant get him close to water in RI then I think Waterbury sound fun.

JKepros-  That is so funny about the cardboard sled race.  FI's son would have loved that if he came with us.

Coreywalk-  I KNOW ALL about the Townie Bars.  My family is from Fryeburg ME and believe me I know. Hahahaa.

Arez- Awesome deal.  Do you mind PM'ing me or Emailing me the name of the place you got the room at?  If you don't want to that's ok I can do some research but I think FI would be pleased with all of that to check out and the price.  Email: Wedding525@gmail.com

All of you are the best!

We also sneak up to Portsmouth quite a bit - love all the restaurants, galleries, and breweries within a short walking distance. We usually stay at the Ale House Inn, and its lovely and easy.
