Where to go for a mom and daughter getaway in July? Within 2 hrs or so from Metro West area?

My mom is coming to visit me and thinking of doing a one night getaway. What hotel to stay in where to go? Love to shop ,interested in beach,walkable sites. Any rec's.

York Beach Maine is close too and has lots of great little shops and the beach. Plus it's close to the Kittery Outlets!!

I second both Newport and York. They have beach and walks, and York Beach has the nearby Outlets that PP mentioned. If you go to Newport there are a lot of reasonably priced Bed & Breakfast places. July will get busy in both of those places though, so make sure to book ahead of time!

Kennebunkport, Ogunquit and York. I did the same trip with my mom and sister last summer. We had a blast!
