website on the formal invites?

Are you placing your website info anywhere on your formal invite inserts? Is it weird?

I'm not. I put it on our STD's though.

I had an insert that had the room block information and at the very bottom in smaller type I put "For more information please visit our website blah blah blah".

I didn't put it on mine. We didn't have the website set up in time for the STDs, so we just spread the URL by word of mouth.

I'm not a fan of it on the actual invite, but I think it's a good idea to put it on an insert. If for example one of your inserts is for directions and another for accomodations, and your website has additional details regarding these, I would put it as a footer on each of those inserts (that's most likely what I'm doing!).

That reminds me...I should get cracking on a wedding website, I only have a planning one!

I am doing this same thing. Putting it on the Accommodations insert.

I'm doing it on the reception card, and I don't think it took away from the elegance of the whole thing. You can see it here: http://blushdesignstudio.blogspot.com/2010/02/garden-party-wedding.html

I'm going to do it on the accommodations and directions card. There are more details about the hotels plus the websites are listed for hotels, church, and venue, and other travel info. Since I spent the time to put it all there, I want people to know about it and it will be helpful to them. I would definitely not put it on the actual invitation, but on the reception card I think it could be ok.

We got our final proofs today - yay! Same thing everyone else is saying - not on formal invite but we did put it on the directions and RSVP card. We figured if we only put it on the RSVP it would get sent back to us immediately but if we only put it on the directions card no one would look at it until the day of the wedding.

LOVE your invites Liz. I def think it looks good on reception cards too (I think it works on any inserts). I personally just don't like it on the actual formal invite.
