Need your cake reviews please!

Hi All-

I'm getting married at Saphire Estate in Sharon, MA and have been browsing through some wedding cake vendors for that perfect cake. If anyone out there has used any of the following vendors or heard anything about them or can recommend any great cake vendors, please let me know!

Dessert Works in Norwood, MA
Bella Cakes in Marlborough, MA
Cakes for All Occassions in Danvers, MA (they actually just got back to me and are too far out to deliver to us =(  )
Cake Connections on Abington, MA

Thanks!!!!!

We used Ellen Bartlett from Cakes to Remember in Brookline and they did a fabulous job on both our wedding cake & groom's cake.

Pic of wedding cake below - pic of groom's cake under RD in Married bio. Our guests raved that it was the best wedding cake they've ever had!

We used Icing On The Cake (http://www.tiotc.com) in Newton, MA- they did an excellent job! So many guests told me that they went back for seconds, haha! Plus, if you give them a photo of your cake, you get a free anniversary cake one year from your wedding date (and it's decorated the same as your cake)!

I used Dessert Works of Norwood. They were the most reasonably priced and even when we had them deliver to Princeton, the price wasn't exhorbitant (sp?). We also had a simple design (no fondant) but for about 110 guests, it only came to about $400 and that included the delivery.

Oh, and the cake was delicious too!!

I know its not on your list, but maybe try Ivy's Fine Cakes and Pastries in Canton, MA.  My wedding will be at the Villa, which is owned by the Saphire family, and Ivys gave us a bit of a discount because they do a lot of business with the Saphires.  I found them to be very reasonable compared to other bakeries that I researched and they were very honest and nice.  The cakes were beautiful and tasted yummy too!

Try Crown Bakery in Worcester. Lovely great tasting cakes and as reasonable as Dessert Works in Norwood. That's where I'm going.

    hiya,

our ceremony and reception will also be at the saphire. i'm wondering if you know how the cake thing works with them... we spoke with our site co-ordinator and she said that the cakes were included in the price, as long as we go through a licensed baker. any idea if that's right? maybe i misunderstood... thanks :)
