Outdoor venue thats reasonable?

Hi all- I am searching for a beautiful venue to get married, preferably outside for ceremony and reception, anywhere in MA, for about 150-200 people. Problem I am having is every where I look, ends up being 35-40 grand! Realistically, i would like to keep it under 20 grand (venue, food, booze) Any suggestions? I love Willowdale, Misselwood, Moraine Farm- are there less expensive, but equally unique and pretty spots around?
Any help is always appreciated!!

    Hi Cristina,
We looked at all the same places as you, with the same concerns. we ended up going with Misselwood. However, I was getting quotes for the Boston Harbor Islands, and they seemed pretty reasonable. It wasn't for us because you have to take a ferry over, but I have heard great things.

Try groveland fairways, I know you can do an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour outdoors as well.  They have gorgeous grounds and are very reasonably priced.  Talk to Liz over there she is very nice and helpful.

@beverly2012, were you able to negotiate at all with Misselwood, or is it firm prices for rental, catering etc? When is your wedding?
We thought about Boston harbor Islands but decided against it for logistical reasons. I live in Wenham, so I am loving the thought of somewhere on the NS, but I will def check out Groveland Fairways too, thanks Michelle!

Well, there are different catering places to choose from, there were 3 in different price ranges. For work reasons, we did it on a Friday so that was a little less. but they were not actually willing to negotiate on rental unless it was a weekend they had not sold for this year.

Catering is separate so you could find a reasonable caterer within your budget and have an outdoor wedding at the Steven's Estate in North Andover. It's a beautiful old estate and they set up a tent in the back. I'm not sure of the exact price for the location itself because I went with a friend to look at it for her wedding. But it may be worth looking into...

Do you want the whole thing outside or just the ceremony?  If just the ceremony, the Double Tree Bedford Glen has a *gorgeous* outdoor ceremony space.  It has a gorgeous pergola and the redid the patio and garden area a few years ago.  It is really beautiful and their packages were very reasonably priced.  We ultimately went elsewhere, but that was our second choice venue.

OOPs, reading fail.  I see you are looking for reception outside also.  I'll leave my post up anyway!

I'm having mine at Sandy Burr Country Club, in Wayland.  Their max is 150, so keep that in mind, but it's $1000 for the room for five hours.  And they're really flexible about that.  There's not catering included, but the tables, and chairs are.
There's a deck on which you can have your ceremony and/or allow people out there for the reception.  It's beautiful.

I highly recommend Zuka's Hilltop Barn in Spencer, MA.  I am getting married there July 13, 2012 and the place is simply amazing.  The wedding planner, Alyson, is the best and it's BEAUTIFUL!  The prices are reasonable, I would totally recommend it!

Like someone ese said, if you don't mind the ferry - Thompson Island in Boston Harbor is amazing, you get all outdoors with skyline views of Boston - for reasonable prices - and you can go from rustic laid back to fancy (which obviously costs more).
